MODS - What is your hidden agenda???
Re: MODS - What is your hidden agenda???
why can't the threads just be bigged up by the people who like the tunes in them? i don't respond to threads with tunes i don't like in them, and i'm not bothered by people moshing or chinstroking to the music of their choice
apparently you are, it's whatev's

Re: MODS - What is your hidden agenda???
being positive all the time is boring, hell mt eden just manage to piss me off, i ignored em like so many others then curiosity got the best of me and low and behold after a couple clicks i go meh mediocre production, but wait i hear a change and it sounds exactly like a record on my shelf
then i have my bud autopilot hit me up saying these guys sample my remix for theirs and guess what they did
personally i think people who feel the need to shortcut their way by any means necessary deserve to be called out and hated on
then again i'm more of a producer than a dj/fan and hell if i was as daft to sample a large chunk of someone else's tune i'd expect the same

just seeing 'daft' and 'large chunk of someone elses tune' in the same sentence made me laugh

Posting "remixes" on utube kind of implies its official so yea hate is deserved altho I think ppl need bear in mind they are basically just kids fucking about and its pretty unlikely any label would put out a physical release with any issues like this even if Mt Eden were stupid enough to try that kind of thing. I don't see anything wrong with djs making edits of tunes they've purchased to use in mixes though (for playing out or low quality inet), many ppl do this kind of thing and I don't think it does any real harm (no more than mixing with the original anyway) as long as they're not actually bootlegging a release of the tune, implying its official or using samples from the same genre without giving credit for their origin.deadly habit wrote:being positive all the time is boring, hell mt eden just manage to piss me off, i ignored em like so many others then curiosity got the best of me and low and behold after a couple clicks i go meh mediocre production, but wait i hear a change and it sounds exactly like a record on my shelf

I actually have a kind of similar situation to yours atm - there's a producer id done shit loads of favours for over the years on the computer front with installations/samples/presets/production advice/mixdowns etc who can no longer be bothered to speak to me but is getting big off the back of my resources in their productions and still not giving me any public credit for the use of those resources? Kind of annoying huh? Especially when their productions are coming out on labels who's owners question my motivations/integrity as a producer probably for my assocations with music and labels they don't like. I'd estimate that id saved that producer years of work collecting, arranging and creating all those things from scratch so a bit of public recognition when my sounds are used or im involved in producing the track wouldn't hurt would it?
I'm not going to say anything else on this anyway, there are more creative ways of embarrasing ppl than moaning about their shitty attitudes. Can't really complain anyway plenty of good things happening atm with other labels but fractal's sig says it all, it can indeed be a waste of time trying to please everyone
On the subject of hate its fair enough to get opinions out in the open even if they are negative I just wish mods would lock things they don't like rather than make them vanish thats all

This is Creative Progression. I think its perfectly ok to look at your own work and take the good from the bad! Nobody is perfect, trying not to get boxed into a sound is hard!

i think their recent shit with bbk sort of implied they are sending shit about trying to cash in. unfortunately bbk seems really intent on cashing in on dubstep no matter what or how shitty. that label really has gone pop and more cheese as it progressesrob sparx wrote:Posting "remixes" on utube kind of implies its official so yea hate is deserved altho I think ppl need bear in mind they are basically just kids fucking about and its pretty unlikely any label would put out a physical release with any issues like this even if Mt Eden were stupid enough to try that kind of thing.
