MINECRAFT

Post by collige » Wed Sep 29, 2010 1:43 am

Does anyone on here play it? I'm addicted to this thing!

If you haven't heard of it, Minecraft is basically a sandbox construction/exploration game. You get dropped into a massive randomly generated world and you can build basically whatever you want. There are enemies to fight too, but you can turn them off.

The game costs $10, but there's also a free, crappier version.

Don't worry, it won't eat up all your free time.

Looks like it would've been HUGE in the 90's, but I can't get past the graphics... and nobody's yet explained the point of it... so I'm concluding it doesn't have one

The point is to either explore and build stuff or just survive depending on how you want to play. Monsters come out at night, so during the day you have to mine materials to build a shelter so you can not die and continues to craft new weapons.

Wow. The graphics kinda remind me of DOOM.

Been playing it for a little while now... thought it would only be a matter of time before it showed up on here.

Who thinks we need a dubstepforum dedicated creative server?

Well the survival multi player is just the same as the single player except there are more than one players. In practice it is somewhat buggy still but apparently it's being worked on.
