@hutyluty - Nice dark and brooding, feeling the textures... track doesn't really go anywhere though... drums need a bit more weight to them too.

@paravrais - Lovely intro, great atmos (frogs are heavy haha). Think I'm on the same page as Sirius on the chord progressions, I really like the bass, drums and atmos though reckon this has got good potential. Really like it when it goes back to the instrument from the intro.

@sirius - really nice build up, melody is really tasty. The drums throw me a little off, don't really fit the vibe... wobz seem a bit thrown in there atm. Would be interested to hear how this turns out though, definite potential.

@bledbox - almost a post-rock vibe to this,.. really chillin, liking this!

@mutiny - nice and moody, not sure if the sub needs to be stronger might be my headphones. Kicks sound a bit feeble too. Nice atmosphere.

@shekul - nice texture to the bass, not really my style tho, found it went on a bit.

Track I uploaded the other week...

@HutyLuty - Really like the vibe man, sounds are nice and the added percussion is cool just needs fitting a bit better. You need to work on having a fixed intro and drop though! Think about how your sounds are fitting around each other also. Love the melodies though.

@Paravis - Love the intro! Proper Reminisence and slightly haunting. Not sure about the drop though. Maybe rework the progression? Nice feel though.

@Sirius - You can cut the intro down more and throw in a couple more changes before the drop. Nice ideas for drums but no sub!

@Cubicle - Nice intro but you could tidy up that piano, quantise the piano. Nice melodic ideas though dude!

@Bledbox - This could be a really nice track but its too repetitive, you gotta throw some changes into that melody!

@J One - Love the vibe. Wicked bassline. Not too surte about the kickdrum, maybe something meatier? Maybe make it more definitive between the melodic and the bassline sections? Give it a bigger drop.

@Mortal - Dark, Deep. Nice atmos. Like the drum patterns, not sure about the midrange. You need more bass in there! maybe the notes are too low or your not splitting your bassline?

@ Wobbafet - Bassline is real nice - You gotta work on your drums, you need some punch in there. Definite begginings of a good tune there.

@ Reignz - Nice - Only critique is i'd have trouble mixing this as its not massively definitive with the phrases etc.

Here's something ive been toying with but not 100% on it Feedback would be sweeet!

Skekul:good sounds man i like your track , lot of little changes in there , good work , reminds me of trance someway , are you using glitch vst ?

J-one:i don't like the vocal sample in the intro , honestly i hate it , and is not just in the intro , is in all your song .

Mutiny:Nice atmosphere but maybe the main line is too repetitive , try to add a second melody to it.

Sirius:Awesome song , but i don't really like the wooble shit that you put at the end of your track.

Paravrais:your intro is good but when the drop come in i hear something out of tune and that's not good i think ,at 3:18 you got another out of tune melody , try to fix this details, nice song anyway.

Ey, first of all I commented on soundcloud on songs from this topic, if this is against the rules and I must comment on this forum I will do that asap.

I just started out creating music, I read parts of the production bible and decided to give it a go. I want to thank the people who made the bible it really helped me get going.

This is my first try at creating a dubstep track, it's still work in progress, but since it is my first I decided the best way to improve is to comment it on here and have you guys judge it. Feedback is always welcome.

The things I'm still working on are the drum pattern(want to spice it up a little) and I would like to boost my bass a bit although I don't know how to do it without affecting the overall sound of the song. Also I want to make slight little changes in timing because it's not perfect everywhere. If you guys got any tips on this or other thins you are welcome. Commenting through soundcloud is also an option.

Hope you guys enjoy and thanks for listening.

@ Zuta, you've got like 3 different songs in there, i really like the first drop, mabe build on that instead of doing something completely different?

@tripwire- Really like it, nice drums and really nice little pads, maybe make them louder? only thing I can think to say

@Neoinwonderland- Nice first effort, it's abit repetetive though, try and progress the bass maybe, have something a bit different as you build.

@Shekul- Been on a Vex'd tip myself recently and this is brilliant. Really like it- 320 when finished ?

This started out as trying to sound like Zomby but kind of degenerated into repetetiveness, what can i do to progress it?

im guess ur a bit new but idk. try making a intro that doesnt contain the main synths and make a better mixdown cuz its a bit unclear to me but idk could try arping and or putting notes up a octave or a diff pattern all together. i kno zomby does alot of arping

@hutyluty thanks for the feedback I will consider it when finishing the song.
And about your song I think it's a nice relaxing track I would probably mess around a bit with a deeper wobbling bass, but on the other hand I'm a beginner who loves the more darker wobling dubstep style so don't know how to make an extra deep bass sound that fits in a chilling track like yours.

@hywlen: I absolutely love the sounds youve got going on here. reminds me of some of the sounds off the kpax soundtrack. good work. Think they could be used a bit more minimally as the track gets a bit cluttered at times. It sounds great otherwise.

@NrHC - halfbak3d - Really like where this is going. The toms keep it driving. Pads and textures are nice, although it does seem a little muddy at times. Percussion and drums are sounding nice and tight. Look forward to hear it finished.

@hutyluty - deathtrap - b-h: some great sounds in this one. Like the slight detune on the stabs. Im not sure where its gonna go from there, but you got some good ideas going on

Spire - absolutely loving the basis for this one. The percussion and drums work really well together, some odd noises in there but youve shaped them perfectly together. Love it when people use original noises for percussion and it gives this one a great feel. The final drop is a bit much though, needs the elements to bounce off each other better rather than all just slamming in your face, i can see what your going for but its not working for me, just my 2cents tho. (listened to the hiphop/downtempo stuff on your soundcloud, really feeling that man, some wicked beats on there!)

@bledbox : The drums are great. Im just not really feelin the main riff that much, and since it doesnt really switch up i cant get into it. Productions tight tho.

@J-one: you had me from the word go. Bashy bashy bashy. Love this sort of garagey tune. Loads of space, everything working together nicely. The bass needs to be a bit more powerful and the drums slightly more punchy, apart from that solid and sick.

@Tripwire: love it. deep as __(insert deep thing here)__! Production is sounding nice. Cant really give you any crit as it sounsd great, and its so far beyond anything i can make! keep up the good work.

Been working on this one on and off for a while. Dont really know if i like it anymore or not... its pretty mellow bit of a garagey shuffle to it. Any feedback and constructive criticism much appreciated. Ta.

DONT TAKE ANYTHING TOO PERSONALLY, THESE ARE JUST MY OPINIONS AFTER ALL

@hutyluty - Im liking both of your tracks. im never really good at making any kind of melodic keys (ive played bass for many years, but never a melodic/lead instrument) so i think thats pretty awesome. your second track is good too, im just curious what program and/or samples youre using, its got the heart of a good track, just needs some "sweetening" or something, like i want to hear a "deluxe" version of that track.

@mortal - Maybe im just a picky jerk, but i have the same issue with yours as well, i really like it, all the elements for a great track are there, it just needs to be polished up a bit. i dont mean adding more parts necessarily, just...i donno. i cant think of anything WRONG with it, im just wanting more or something. i kinda want to remix it, haha.

@brex - any reggae/dub inspired tunes are good in my book. yours is a simple tune, but i like it and it gets the job done. curious to hear more from you in the future (maybe something a little more complex?).

@wobbafet - I liked it up until the drop. the wobbly part, although not too agressive/abrasive on the ears, i still just didnt care for it (just my opinion of course). If you like it thats really all that matters, if this were MY track, id just keep the bass without any wobble, turn up the guitars (or whatever it is) after the drop with a little delay and add a ride or maybe a shaker on the offbeat. thats just me though.

@paravrais - I like this one a lot too, i was kinda iffy about the kinda "weird movie chords" ill call them, but they grew on me. im really digging your percussion programming and bassline. i prefer the first drop over the second, but again, thats just me.

as for me, heres an updated version of the same track i posted earlier. nearly finished.

Reworked my track and got it closer to completion I feel. Loosing faith in it now so probably won't do too much more to it but thoughts welcome anyway

@Josh I'm really digging the eastern vibe of this one. Maybe a little repetitive, and the vox are kind of lost in the mix a little bit, but what do I know, I've just started!

@Spire Your percussion is genius, and when the sub bass kicks in? Very nice. That last drop is pretty mental, also.

@Rubicon Very chilled out, and your production is incredibly tight. I get a "Driving down the motorway late at night" feel.

So this is my first proper attempt at a dubstep track, I've only been using FL Studio for a few months, and this forum has been really helpful, so I figured I might as well start contributing, yeah?

@Three Years The synth is pretty sick, i feel like the drop at 1:02 couldve been a little heavier, but maybe that's just me.

@Spire Damn, I love the creativity behind all the drums, it all fits together really well.

@Rubiconguava My favorite part of this is the highhats, I can't really decide whether or not I like the reverb on the synth from 2:00-4:00. I like the idea behind it though, the garagey feel to it is kind of a refreshing change.

Alright, so this is my first time ever writing anything dubstep. I've played piano for 4 years, and I just got Reason 4 last week. So far, its been a long learning experience figuring out how everything works, sampling was probably the hardest/most time consuming thing to do, after that was attempting to get everything synced. Now I'm kind of at a road block, I'm not quite sure how to finish it, or if I should just scrap it and start over. Like I said, this is my first time, so feedback would be appreciated.

@ Shekul: Damn nice work mate, felt it couldve done without the glitch work, but some really nice sounds in there man.

@ Rubiconguave: Defo feeling this, i think if you're going to carry on just step it up a little, not much I would change tbh, would love to hear final edit.

@ Paravrais : Thats quality, cant really offer any crits as I liked it that much, tight production.

Heres one ive been on today, synth work is a bit intense, maybe a bit tooooo much?

@Echoi: Like the way everything seamlessly builds up on that one

@stealth-elf: Top class production, maybe some more delay on the snare to get it moving but love the intro, as with most of your intros, well thought out. Nice man, don't lose faith cos it's going somewhere.

@three-years: Mixdown needs work but it's hard to nail but this is a nice clubby track, good effort for a first go

Here's mine: Not so sure on the mixdown but it's a marked improvement on the last version, comments appreciated to see where I can take this:
