Could I just say people seem to have got the wrong idea about where I stand with this. I liked the initial idea to begin with but I've also agreed with everything that Deadly and Paradigm X have said along the way and can see that it's turning to shit. I don't want to be lumped in the box of naive 'lets master it in ozone and put it on megauploadz lolz' crew cos that's really not how I think.

And Basic A, there's a big difference between listening to 15 3 minute tunes and voting than there is listening to 2 and voting THATS why you get more votes when someone has a tune battle here. Not because of a lack of promo for the comps lol. The amount of listens on the soundcloud VS the amount of people that vote clearly demonstrates that people just cant be fucked to listen to every tune.

Anyway, fuck it, I throw in the towel. Too many shit ideas and bickering and bullshit in this thread to bother with. Maybe if I ever start up a label I will put out a release of DSF members, that's the only way it would ever get done properly. Bye Bye Thread.

Firstly Deadly is not negative. He has a lot of experience on both sides of running a netlabel as do I.

If you dont want it treated as a joke its a lot of hard work with a vision, which is why only a few are notable (exegene, early darklands, thinner etc).

Exegene for example had a proper site, proper artwork, rotating banners for each new release, bob went mad getting known/signed people to contribute. For every one he asked im sure 10 knocked him back. Promo mixes. A net radio show every week. Stickers. Etcetcetc.

Its not like making a few forum posts and it all comes together.

Some noob (no offence) shoving everything thru hiphop master3 in ozone is jokes, especially if even considering charging ! Most if not all of the subvert netlabels pay macc even for the free releases.

Webspace i said ill provide but to the point of giving login details to someone who knows what theyre doing, not getting involved.

People who cant even take a bit of practical and realistic advice are what cause all the problems, as i said before. Hence why label by committee is a crap idea. It needs someone to be in charge (or 2-3 max) to take control.

Has anyone considered that the owners of the site may need to be consulted if the dsf forum name is to be used, i cant see them wanting 14 crap badly mastered brostep tunes flaunted as an official dsf release. Just as an example.

I think this thing has been taken far too seriously, I get the feeling the OP's vision was to get a few tunes together representing different artists from the forum and put them together as a showcase for some of the talent on here. I dont think he ever intended to start a DSF net label. I put myself up for being a 'judge' of the tunes because I felt having a small panel of unbiased people would be an easier way of selecting tunes. If people feel I haven't got enough experience or because I have a lower post count than some I will step back. Why not just give this a go though? Will it really do that much damage? And alot of people seem to think it will all fall apart anyway so whats there to worry about. Personally I think it is a great idea which is has been over complicated by people.

errr, edit the first post? It isn't abusing my mod powers, its called keeping the forum tidy. Its quite possible to have 3-4 bits of information in one post, ya know? I did ask the OP to stop creating threads about this compilation, also!

The main reason I am against it is because its like hanging out your washing for everyone to see your underwear. Do you really think its professional to have the birth > death of a compilation/label on a PUBLIC forum? If the OP had any thing to actually BRING to the table, he would of had a team WAY before posting this topic. Its highly unprofessional and I really don't think its a good idea because everyone and their mother can read this very controverisal thread, hows that going to look once the comp or label goes live? This thread is probably going to be #2 on google search... . Everyone has contributed to digging this idea its own grave.

Logic Pro, if you are really that brutally hurt about the thread being locked then message the OP and submit your tunes and tell your producer network to do the same.


I ain't got anything else to say about this, theres plenty of successful projects what use one thread, including stuff ive done myself, like my radio show and my mixes...Its not like I am speaking blindly without any knowledge.
