It's not that I don't appreciate it. I just don't value it as a collector would. I would be totally fine using a vst to make that sort of sound. Not exactly the same but close enough for my tastes.

phoscynon is soooo close, so hard to tell the difference.

on a youtube vid maybe! if youve ever been near a real one its night and day. much as i love abl, which i preferred to the d16, its pretty clear when you have them in front of you.

edit 2 listened again, even the envelopes are wrong on the d16!

even for a complete rebuild the x0x isnt quite a 303. Id much rather have a real 303 than a virus, vst in a box.

Dont get me wrong, i have worked with one, and also have a bass station (303 clone).

I dont dislike 303 acid sounds. but i feel people are only buying these boxes of acid squelch because its trendy to own one. And its iconic mainly due to its image and nostalgia.

Give me more flexibility and in depth synthesis any-day over this hyped up box of apparent 'voodoo'.
Im just saying people go ape over it without explaining whyyyyyyy

You cant really explain it, you either like that sound or not. And nothing else sounds like it.

Its a personal preference thing i grew up to live acid PAs.

Fair enough. Each to their own and all that.

But i dont just like it because "its trendy" lol, jesus give me a bit more credit than that! Ive liked them for 16 years or more! im 34 soon! Besides, Acids distinctly untrendy at the moment.

IMO theres No other synth you can sit down with and play for hours with nothing else. But thats my opinion.

Thanks. The pic really does it no justice. Can't see the guitars on the walls or the gear in the racks, but like I said, you get the idea. Been workin my ass off towards this and its finally coming together. Still have to load the rack up with more of the recording gear and set the rest up but its really coming together well.

I have no clue what this guy makes but I have seen it soooo many times where a really sick producer uses a beat up laptop and dj headphones on the couch and another guy with a virtual music store in his room just sits there and makes patches and troubleshoots the midi chain all day.
