So many tunes, so little time. Do they usually just rename the "Tracks for Feedback thread" for each month or do they start a fresh post? Just curious. Would have been cool to get first post :lol:

Anyway, got some more feedback for these great producers and I'm gonna drop a new one from myself. Well, it's not *brand* new, but I've really only played it for a few close friends. It's a tribute to some of the old skool dnb stuff. I think Bad Company/Drumsound/Spor were some of the inspiration for it. Any and all feedbacks appreciated.

@ Rubicon Guava:
“Edits” – Smooth. Sounds like something I might hear on SomaFM. Like the play between half time and normal rhythm in the beginning, around 1:10. Nice subtle wobbles.

“The O No No” – Once again, smooth. Didn’t expect that bass drop at 2:00, very cool.

@Hutyluty:
“Rayira” – LOL that outro is creepy and I love it! The whole song has this really dark vibe, but the melody is almost happy. Bittersweet maybe? Drop at 0:56 was cool, I like how you don’t see it coming. I would put a little space in there, before it hits, and maybe add a slight hit, just for added “whoa” effect, but that’s me. Very cool track.

@AfterEmpire
“Bounce” – Nice intro, would love to hear more of a build. Not longer per se, but just a little more hype, I guess. Then drop hard at 0:15. I like the mid range synth that comes in at 0:40, would be could if you doubled that track, panned one track hard left, the other right and slightly offset the beginning of one of the tracks, creating a slight stereo phase and making it sound thicker. Sub sounds really good. I think my attention span started to drift away around 3:00, the energy seems to wane. Maybe add a few twists, different rhythms for a bar or two, spice it up a little. Solid track, good job.

“Nuke Em” – Phat. I like the cut out at 2:00, it just happens so quick. Very cool. Like how that little “Merp” sound runs through the whole track. Nice driving jam at 3:30, and I would suggest the same as before with that synth you are using. I like the distortion you add, but it still sounds a little too thin at times, but that’s just me own opinion. I really dig the feel of this track overall, had to go back for a couple more listens!

@Tripwire22
“Empty” – Chillstep for realstep! Like the transitions, they kinda grab your ear. Smooth percs. Not sure how I feel about the ride that continues at 3:50. I think the rhythm is cool, but the sound is a little abrasive, doesn’t seem to compliment the rest of the beat there. Maybe just use a quiet click? Levels are good, the beat is really cool. Nicely done.

“Behind My Thoughts” – Nice sub work. Those low notes are heavy! Nice sweeps. Cymbals at 2:46 sound kinda cheesy. Like the rhythm, but maybe us a different sound. Cool xylo/marimba sounds, lush pads, very smooth.

@Alby D:
“Untitled Bootleg” – Nasty drums man. The rhythm and bass just seem to slink along with other. Digging those few notes that come a sixteenth or so early, really jerky sounding. Kinda reminds me of Flying Lotus “Massage Situation”or maybe something by Dr. Who Dat?…you could make an Adult Swim Bump with that beat!

“Future Bootleg” – I can tell you have been working on your sound. Very unique. Now you just need to get those tracks polished and published!

@Dissent
“Slugga” – Really liking the arrangement, cool sounds. It could be a little thicker in some places, but that’s mainly in the mid to hi end synth sounds. Everything else is right in place.
@GoreIlla:
“8bit Massacre” – Listen to Dr. P much? LoL, I’m just messin around. How did you make those sounds? WahWahWahYoyoYo! Very cool. Drums sound good, phat rhythm too.

@cloak and dagger:
I got ya. I like the work, man! I can see how the bass line drops heavy and then flows back to a lighter, higher note. It’s growin on me!

@cogidubnus:
“Bisquitine” – Dark, very eerie. I like it. The dark splash cymbal/snare drum/clap sounds cool, but it seems to be a little to abrasive on the high end for my taste. Smooth track.

@Kamuh:
“Wake Up” – I’m really likin the horn stabs and the glitch kick. The track has a good flow until about 2:45, I feel like the break down is a little long, and loses momentum. Still a heavy track, great subs and drums, nice job.

@Blazinaidan:
“Dukya Head 2” – Much better! It may seem daunting, but I think you are on the right track. I can actually hear those phat slides now, killer stuff!

And now for your criticism, I present: Gritty Teeth

#bass sedation
Nice Ddrum and Bass!
coooool ass arp! I like this kinda midranged shit :) well done. I'd skip the where you only hear the wobble in one ear if I were you... sounds just weird. might need some mixing/mastering at the end... sounds abit too harsh. but good work man :)

#finji

ehm... I think you are lost :P taht isnt dubstep. 180bpm???? haha. sounds like hardcore trance. it was asweet ass intro and I think it's a nice production althougyh I dont listen to that kind of music :)

#Tau37

WOW! Amazing how the bass is literally rising fromn the bootom of the speakers to the top!!!!!! really cool!
I like the vibes and the chillness. not really my type of thing but I support it :)

#Grace

Nice tune mate. Sounds like garage. Very chill song.. the hats are nice and there is nothing wrong with the rest either. just that the melody isn't really what I like. too cheesey and it kinda sounds like a 5year old tapping chords :P maybe work on that? or ofc it's a matter of preference and people might like it this way :) good job overall!

#jstick

best track today. sucha nice harmony, although it got a taste of filth in it. I love the girls voice. sucha chill tune. I don't know what more to say :) I'd definatly put this into my ipod if I could! :P

now over to my new remix! finished it today. post any feedback on soundcloud PLEASE! :) I can return feedback to whom is serious about mine.

@ bass sedation: dammit i just made my first dnb song and you wrecked it hahaha. i agree with superginger, the part with the synth only on side is odd. maybe if you just panned back and forth a little bit for that section it would work better? anyways, the overall track is very full and sounds good. it's a damn fun song, keep going!

@ superginger: posted on soundcloud. good work!

@hutyluty: i think i see your style, and it sounds good. i'm not much into that style or know how to make it, but i will say that i think a nice sub way down low would make this sound more rounded. however, it is definitely sounding good. nice and atmospheric!

@ Finji: not very dubsteppish is an understatement :lol: . also, it's not quite my style, but i think that if it was i would like it. there's a lot going on, but it doesn't conflict, and you use the stereo field to full advantage. well done, if a bit random.

alright, i felt a bit self conscious posting this here cause it's dnb/half time dnb (i know doa has a feedback forum but it looks wayyy to good for me to post, not to mention i've learned everything on this forum), but if anyone can give me feedback it'd be much appreciated. this is my first attempt, and i've only been producing for a little while, so it's lacking a lot, but let me know what you can. also, i'll give feedback to anyone who gives me some.

molisc413 nice atmospherics but I think I'd give the kick a bit more of a rhythm. Maybe even just automate the volumes of the hits.

jaydot sounds pretty good I like what's going on in the background. Personally I think you could make the wobble a bit more interesting. It's a cool sound but I think you could use it a little better maybe play with the reverb on it?

jsaxton I like the sound of silver remix. You did it justice!! To be honest though I think it'd be better if you took the BPM down a bit. The vocals sound a bit rushed or something but then maybe that's what you were going for!! :P

BananaBomber I like that track. I watched Let the Right One In last night and that tune sounds like it'd fit right in there!!! Spooky!

For my own stuff, I just uploaded a four-song set to my soundcloud over the weekend. My favourite of the four is in the sig but I'd love a bit of feedback on any of them.

Got some new tracks i'm looking for some feedback on.

Those of you at the SuperRecordings launch party down at The Old Blue Last in Hoxton last night may have heard the first one - 'M.A.N.D.Y.' being played in Throwing Snow's set.

Soundcloud

The second is a remix of 'Jan Jelinek - Do Dekor'.

Soundcloud

All feedback/criticisms welcome.

Peace

@hutyluty @finji @Tau37
Cheers for the feedback, glad you guys like it. Wasn't sure if anyone would be into the vibe.

@magnetron, sputtering
Very cool stuff, hypnotic and well mixed. Interesting change at 2mins. Thought the messy part near the end was unnecessary and it could've been a bit shorter/more concise.

@jsaxton
Didn't think the vocal and the track complimented each other here. Shame because the original song has a lush groove.

@jeff bass
Like the scuttery samples and beat and the bass is nice and rolling but it could with a bit more variety in the notes, 6 minuets is a long time to not have changing harmonies or melody. I like the way you strip it down and bring it back in the middle.

-BananaBomber: omg, nice one. i like dat dark feeling. everything sounds perfectly

-toot: wow i really like your song "Thanks for the Pen Naomi v2", i don't know what genre is this but i like it, except the dirty thing in the ending. i guess some sound needs less reverb.

-dubplateguy: brick-top: it's ok, except the kick.. i can't hear kick in your song :S u need to make it louder, or eq it better.

-jstick: badhair-aim-high: good one! everything sound nice. one problem: i think in the middle of the track it become boring. :l btw really nice.

i need to go now, so maybe posting more feedback later.
but for now here is my latest track, need some feedback :)

@bananabomber liking this, i reckon some of your basses sound a bit muddy, you can cut some low mid, like 3-600 hz, to clean up most things, but its really important to do it with bass till it sits.

@jeffbass Great drums and percussion man, good progression, good vocal samples. Vinyl crackle suits it aswell. Good tune!

@jsaxton Not feeling the vocals, the instrumental is alright, good kick for the style, i like how it gets all wonky @ 1:53.

@RatRaceProducing: Thanks for the feedback, I'll try to go bigger next time.

On your track. Nice dance dub feel that could probably sneak into some dance/trancy sets due to the main melody at the beginning of the song. At the break section I would have liked to have heard the typical four chord dance rhythm instead of the 2 note rhythm used but its cause I am getting such a trance vibe from this track. Otherwise the vocals samples are real good. Nice track.

i like this, nice chilled out atmospheric track. could do with slightly stronger bass although thats just my speakers. the melody is really nice but i think you could vary up the drum pattern a bit as it does get slightly repetitive

feelin those delayed voices in the intro although not too sure if those dead prez samples work too well. that low synth also reminds of kryptic mindz stuff. i like the drop but feel it is a little empty at the moment. i like how you work the elements into the track slowly aswell. good stuff man

intro is a bit too long i think, i think it would be a good idea to gradually introduce more elements which lead up to the drop to keep listeners interested. really like the melody after the drop and your drums and percusion are sick man. can't say i'm too keen on the end when everything is distorted but interesting concept
