It was more of just an awe-inspired "wut" and not necessarily "wut" as in "lolwut". A lot of people, including me, thought he sampled MJ for dis.

I feel a lot of people think whoever is behind Burial walks around recording 'the real sound of London' on a mobile phone in stairwells or some shit and are upset when they find out it's film samples and cut up rnb vocals
what is of value and wisdom for one man seems nonsense to another.

idk man burial got some deep ass songs. Sometimes his vocals are a little too "corny" for me, but you gottta admit, theres nothing better than just chillin and puttin on Untrue and chillin out for a while.

Don't have a problem with him sampling r&b, just that particular vocal sounds fucking horrible imo.

But why are you judging a tune he never released? That's why its unreleased! LOL We all got bare files on our computers that should never see the light of day... But a big name like Burial, you email a half-^ss tune one night to somebody to see how it sounds and blam, its on YOUTUBE the next day...

the whiny vocals
reminisce,
reaching out into
the sound of the rave; euphoria
the forgotten sound of the distant united
kingdom, lost
in the shrouded halls of time
of pirate static and emotion
somewhere in 1992

I hate that, as an American, I will likely never have the experience of turning on the radio and hearing something quite as badass as this.

no offense but this kinda way off base.

early 90s hardcore sounded fuck all like what people seem to think these days are 'oldschool rave vibes'

old school

Why all the hate? It's only a sample, I'm sure a lot more of the artist's you all listen too have sampled far, far worse.

it's not the sample. it's the fact that this track sucks dick.

I for one wasn't hating, I'm impressed by how much he warped that sample while retaining that modicum of coherence that he somehow always manages to.

Well, on principle, sampling Ray J is a far bigger offense than sampling Trey Songz, but the tune posted just sounds... not great
