Surely dogs are much smarter. Cats can't round up sheep or guide blind people. Although they have been trained to do this it still takes some level of intelligence to learn shit. Over the years we have trained dogs to do helpfull shit, I'm sure some have tried to train cats to do similar stuff but to no avail.
I have no proof of this though and cant really be bothered to find any either.

Definitely. Taken shrooms around my cat loads of times, it definitely knows what's up. Seems to act more human like towards me.

In relation to this thread tho, people mistake dogs to be smart because they can do tricks and learn commands. Classical conditioning =/= smartness. Although smartness can be interpreted in lots of different ways I suppose.
Cats are just stnuc who don't give a fuck. They cause more damage to local habitats than pretty much everything else on the planet.
They fucked up australia's urban wildlife because they're such good hunters.
They're probably smarter, but again it depends how you interpret smartness

my old dog would eat his own shit, sick it up, go back later, eat it, throw it up.... etc until you clean the sick up
dogs never clean themselves

my cats hunt pigeons/squirrels/rabbbits/stoats/mice/rats
cats clean themselves

go figure

My cat brought home a fully grown seagull once. Over the years I've questioned how she killed did it, but I've come to the conclusion that she found it dead and dragged it home.
Cold blooded motherfuckers.

Certain breeds of dog are monumentally stupid.

I think both lower the IQ of the owner tbh, but on average, a cat will do less things that are as mentally challenging and irritating

Dunno though, which one is more free? Cat who roams around like a tough guy but is afraid to go too far or Dog who goes everywhere with owner, but mostly on a lead

Little city gangster kids are mange ridden feral cats

cats have been known to travel hundreds of miles to find their families after the family moved house and lost cat

cats know they can fuck off whenever they want though
one of mine goes off for 5-10 days quite often, stays out in the woods and has a massive hunting sesh

spose it's all down to breed and the individual cat though

Ayeeeee, I kinda got another cat at the mo (looking after it for a mate that's done one to London). Should get some pics etc, is way 'cuter' than the evil dribbling dickhead cat I had for years

Here's the fat bastard chilling in the sun, somehow it's around 16 years old now
