basic 64 vst, i just load a simple square wave, make it sound how i want then reduce the decay rate to make it snappy.

I might be repeating some of the earlier suggestions, but here are the links for my 8bit plugin collection (all freeware as well!)

some are better than others for different things, the best is to mess around and see which works best

Re: creating 8 bit (nes) sounds?
I find that layering some white noise very quietly with the synth can create some sweet sounds, plus bitcrusher.
Re: creating 8 bit (nes) sounds?
the wave pack from Adventure Kid has no content in it! am i doing something wrong?
Re: creating 8 bit (nes) sounds?
There's a dope 8 bit synth I forget the name of around. Some decent presets there, Mario jumps and whatnot.

I think the ones you listed are all paid synths, Atlantis can do this for free!legend4ry wrote:alright, have you got a synth what will let you import your own waveforms? Something like Octopus, Absynth or Alchemy.
Its really just a matter of clicking "load" and finding the waveform you want
