@johnst- i know it sucks this people not leaving comment- very tight intro and it's into somethingpretty heavy, sounds pretty metal like. All I have to say is that it's abit light, have you got a high pass filter on your wobbling thing, it sounds cut off. Also I hear your sub but it needs to be brought forward quite a bit. The drums are great, really work well
The ideas are all there but Its all about production expertise and experience for you now I think, a bit like what people keep telling me

@K Breath- big ups on the vangelis comparison! Your track starts beautifully, and well carries on in that vein really, the bass is stunning, the girls voice works really well over the top and the ideas of the mount kimbie esque pizzicato-ee strings are amzing. Who are you getting signed by, might have to cop it mate, the kind of tune I really wish I could make. Wasn't too gushing there was I?

@hankerins- vex'd tip, really on that sort of sound at the moment- not sure if I love or hate the really cheerful melody that comes with it, gives it a really weird contrasting feel- kind of marmite ting i suppose, bit happy hardcore though. After a second listen I'll say I like it, kind of a Zomby tune over a Vex'd beat and bass, and the end is so bouncy and crazy it's hard not to like-- good and different! got your own style there

I'll post my two tunes again cos they didnt get too much feedback before

trike12 wrote:@bananabomber liking this, i reckon some of your basses sound a bit muddy, you can cut some low mid, like 3-600 hz, to clean up most things, but its really important to do it with bass till it sits.

@jeffbass Great drums and percussion man, good progression, good vocal samples. Vinyl crackle suits it aswell. Good tune!

@jsaxton Not feeling the vocals, the instrumental is alright, good kick for the style, i like how it gets all wonky @ 1:53.

New tune done with my mate plasticsun

@ trike12
Really nice, spacious mix. Good sounds and nice strong bass. The transitions are smooth. The only thing I'd like more of is variation/melody...when the bass comes in heavy the last time around I really want there to be something else going on to keep my interest.

@hutyluty
Tekamine: Good mix but I found the tune pretty boring...soz. There's nothing in it that really grabs me.

@hankerins
Sometimes a little to disparate for me but when it kicks in altogether around 3mins it's damn good fun. Like the direction in general.

@Deathtrap

Some good Sounds in all 3 tracks, however it sounds like everything is set at 0bd. Could also try panning some of the sounds.

Hello, everyone! We've just finished a tune and for the first time we're satisfied with the end results. The vocal samples will be swapped with better quallity ones and there'll be a little more tweaking afterwrods but in general this is the finished track :)

Have a listen and leave some feedback, it's always appreciated!

Cheers,
Minstrell & Vly

minstrell - nice track , the vocal isnt that bad , feeling the intro , dont like the drop that much , but the song is great - HARD :)

cosmicbastards - like this type of dubstep , pretty good :) dont like the overdrived thing but thats small thing in the whole track , good song keep up :)

toot - i dont listen to that type of dubstep , for me the intro is too long but for that type is normal i guess , the track is good , its sounds kinda full , its got some energy .. not my type but good :)

Need some feedback too on my track , is in my sig , hope you enjoy :)

@trike: Really liking the bass, the mixdown is very good too! the tracks stays interesting enough throughout its lenght. The new synth which comes in at 3:12 could a bit louder IMO. Overall very very nice track :)

@toot: Mixdown is pretty good. The intro is a bit too long for my taste. Like the percussion on the drop. Not a fan of the last bit, its a bit too chaotic and the sustained sub at the end would work better if it was shorter i think.

@cosmicbastards: Like the dark vibe of the beginning of the intro. The intro could be louder as i think the volume difference between the intro and the drop is too big. Or just turn the volume down at the drop cuz can hear the bass and the kick fighting over space. The bit at 1.38 clips quite a lot, same goes for the last bit. Liking the idea tho.

@minstrell: good work on the bass, like it. The vocal sample is ok, but a bit too loud imo, also don't like echo of it at the drop. Mixdown is pretty solid too. Overall a nice track.

Here's my latest track, soundcloud kinda messed up the bass, added some shit underneath it, don't know why, the mix is decent i would say and nothing is clipping. ah well :lol: Would love some feedback anyway. Cheers

EDIT: Uploaded wrong version, will upload again asap as soundcloud is being a tit right now :lol: :lol:

The infamous forum regular Mr Basic A. was kind enough to let me feature a remix on his coming EP 'Phantom Hertz Presents Low Voltage Volume 5'. The release is coming early November on Phantom Hertz Recordings with the reference PHZLV006.

I took the remix on a more bumpy journey than the original and dragged it through the mystical dream world of Future Garage, the remix comes out the other side feeling slightly warped, rushed in a post-panic adrenaline rush sort of way and slightly lost in time and space in a way that it might never process thoughts in the same way as before again!

Hope you enjoy :e:

@ cosmicbastards: really liking this, tough as fuck. how did you get it to punch so hard without maxing out the headroom

@ Minstrell: this is sick. that bassline is sweet. reminds me of Tipper a bit but more aggressive, nice work..

@ Wirez: very nice remix you've got there man, really nice drums. the one thing that put me off is the lead that comes in at around 1 minute kinda sounded a bit too bright and static, or maybe it would sound cool with something like a phaser or filter envelope to give it a bit of movement. nothing major though. great track either way..

My latest is in my sig there. i'm still messing about but i'd massively appreciate some insight as it's my first proper Dubstep number.. :e:

Made this all from scratch today, definitely feel it's finished though. Always a nice feeling when a tune just basically makes itself XD Gone down a 138bpm Jungle vibe and really liking it, think there's gonna be a lot less dubstep from me these days and a lot more down tempo jungle and garage. Anyhow let me know what you guys think of it, my first attempt at Jungle so i've made it a free download :D

@Project Ex - Your tune wont play for me for some reason :s

@narrator - Found the track pretty boring to be honest, not much atmosphere and real clichéd sounds, not much musicality going on and the drums were real basic too :\ the mixdown doesn't sound particularly muddy but it isn't punchy either. Doesn't sound like a finished tune to me, lot of work could still be done on it imo. The sample at 3 mins in is a nice touch but it's totally let down by the drop. If you had a more interesting melody on that bassline I think the whole thing could be saved but as it i'm really not feeling it.

@Whyrez - Liking the groove on this, nice atmosphere etc, lovely sparse bassline. Like what you've done compared to the original, given it a different vibe and it really suits it. Good job overall.

@Mr.Knife - Hmm, mixdown could use a fair bit of work. Got to be honest here and the tune is pretty bland and boring :\ sounds like your pretty new to production so don't worry you'll get better but it's a steep learning curve! The sound you've made is kinda cool but I would only use it really sparsely in a track because it gets really annoying after a while and it's the only thing playing throughout the whole track! you need some more instruments in there! Your drums don't sound too bad, good arrangement though the samples are a bit weak and you could do with a few more things like shakers going on too. Basically to improve you need a LOT more atmosphere, try throwing some chords in etc, switch up the melody a bit and for your main bassline use something with a bit more tone to it, with the sound you have at the moment it sounds like the whole tune is just one note and that aint music I'm afraid. Work on your mixdowns and song arrangement too and you'll have a much more finished and polished product. I know it sounds like a lot of shit to do and it is XD producing aint easy, it takes a lot of time and effort!

Hope peeps don't think I'm too critical, If I just lick your balls and don't tell you what you need to improve on then you'll never get better!

Well thats fucked me off

I just left a post here, and its dissapeared!

Track in my sig - I think it's pretty much done, not a bad mix down! Would definitely like to hear thoughts on it and where people would change things though like!

Support on soundcloud would be well appreciated also!

Will leave some moral feedback once I've flicked through a few more pages on this!

@Kontrol
Really liking this kind of dubstep. Maybe add some risers/crashes etc to emphasise changes. Also some kind of intro would help the length. Good work.

@Stebrah
Nice tune, dont think the bouncy synth part works to well. Overall not too bad.
