Re: DOOM!!!
DOOM smacked it, sound was good compared to most hiphop gigs. great night

Re: DOOM!!!
Sound was a bit shit at Brixton Academy I thought, but still had a heavy night. There were a couple tracks towards the end that were a lot clearer.

Re: DOOM!!!
just heard the same from a mate saying the sound was shit there too.j-one wrote:Sound was a bit shit at Brixton Academy I thought, but still had a heavy night. There were a couple tracks towards the end that were a lot clearer.
it all basically comes down to the fact that sound engineers on a whole don't get hiphop. it goes the other way too cos how many hiphop heads do you know that wanna become sound engineers, everyone wants to spit or make beats.
Re: DOOM!!!
to me hip hop isnt bass music, get the levels right on the vocals and the drum-tracks and your sweet, i can imagine though that doin live sound engineering for hip hop is so hard because the production is so hard to balance with the vocals.

Re: DOOM!!!
maybe, but i reckon if they had a modicum of respect for the music they would spend enough time using their ears and get it right.noam wrote:to me hip hop isnt bass music, get the levels right on the vocals and the drum-tracks and your sweet, i can imagine though that doin live sound engineering for hip hop is so hard because the production is so hard to balance with the vocals.
