@hutluty-- tekamine-1, the pads kind of overwhelm everything else and it's kind of repetitive. Maybe switch it up a little or cut down the time. Good tune though, like the chords.

@trike12-- wolves-w-plasticsun, very fat and nice structure.

@toot-- thanks-for-the-pen-naomi-v2, intro is too long. Like the atmosphere in this one, though some parts could use some more articulation. Mix is kind of strange, especially at the end, though it does bring some tension.

@cosmicbastards-- Leave feedback to recieve feedback.

@Minstrell--same as above

@MrKnife-- little repetitive?

@Project EX-- Dope track man. What's with the couple of seconds of silence at the beginning? Edit that out and your set.

So here's my new track. It's kind of a mesh of dubstep/breakbeat/rock so I hope that isn't a problem for anyone.
Soundcloud
And here's an older track I'm gonna start fixin, if you give the time to say what's up with it that would be great:) It's a different style for sure.

@narrator: Drums, esp the kick needs more power, its hardly noticable in the intro, let alone the drop. You probably spend the most time on the bass, which is pretty good but not really my thing.

@Siderealdb: feedback on the cloud

@kontrol: need to switch it up more, it gets boring pretty fast. Make a few edits in the drum, bass and maybe add a new sound halfway thru the track.

Jaydot - The youtube compression in this one has made the bounced audio suffer badly (especially on the percussion). It's clear the snare was intended to sound big but i think it could come down in volume or be eq'd a little to tame it as it jumps out of the mix too much for my ears, Aside from that, tune seems like it could be a good un.

@ jaydot, don't like youtube for showcasting tunes due to the compression. Where's the sub? Could be just youtube, but more likely your mix. The kick pretty absent too, bring it up more and make it punch more. Not very keen of the sound of the wobble but thats just my preference.

@hutyluty: good stuff! like other people have been saying it is a bit repetitive, but it seems like that's the style. it chilled me out, made me wanna sit back and smoke a spliff lol. the drums in the first one were really nice, i liked how they were used a lot, and the effects on them (tape distortion?) were just right. i personally would have gone for a fat drop, but maybe it's not your style. the second song imo needs more changes. they don't have to be anything major, but just small additions or subtractions here and there could make it an awesome experience. good work, i like your style a lot, and you've definitely got a nice style.

Also can anyone tell me why its not working? :?
i'm not the best judge of this, but i really like how the snare sounds for this song. it fits very well. the track sounds like it's full of stuff, and i like that a lot about it. the bassline is also super cool. niccceeeee

Nobody want to comment on mine?? :s *sulks*

Meh, here's some more feedback to try and inspire some in return..

@Starvin Marvin - Haha I was expecting this to be totally shit when you said it was your first, I take it you've made other genres in the past and this isn't your first tune full stop?? Pretty good work man, like the sounds you've got going on and the bassline is pretty cool. The weird tappy noises are my favourite XD Mixdown isn't perfect, could do with being a bit more polished and the drums aint really doing it for me but there's a lot to like about this tune. I'd say work on your mixdowns and drums in future and your onto a winner. Like your style, almost reminds me of 501 in a weird way.

@Jaydot - Your production is improving but you've still got a way to go man. The biggest thing I notice in your tunes is you need to work on your melodies massively. Really lets the tune down when there's just no melody to carry it at all. Your mixdown needs work still too, getting better with the EQ but the levels need work. If your gonna have a kick drum build up like that then the kick needs to be BIG. It's far too quiet and ruins the buildup. Like your use of samples to create atmosphere in this one. So yeah, next time try adding some leads or chords to increase the musicality and THINK about the melody of your bassline. It's not enough to just put filthy sounds playing the same note or same 2 notes over and over, you need a melodic hook or it won't sound good!

Here's mine again, please gimme some feedback this time peeps!!

Thanks for replying :)
No, it's not my first tune EVER, just my first dubstep tune. I really wanna know what you mean by polishing my drums? I don't have any reference monitors atm. So maybe that's why they don't sound good :/
I'm not planning on continuing on that tune, I just made it for fun, for a music-compo I'm going to attend in a couple of weeks :)

The mixdown in general sounds slightly muddy, just something to work on in future then the drums was a separate issue, I don't really like the pattern you used, bit too simplistic but that's understandable when it's your first dubstep tune, you need a bit of swing in there really! also the snare lacks the kind of punch you need for a tune like this, think you either took too much of the low mid out or didn't use very punchy samples.

Siderealdb: dislike the snare and kick, the bass is a bit too high in the mix too. the song has a solid structure though which is always good!

paravrais: really nice man, chilling intro which i dig too. nicely constructed break and bassline! keep up the good work!

I'll post more feedback when this thread stops freezing on me!

@impey: like the intro, but its too long for my taste. Drop is nice! All the elements work quite good together. Solid mixdown, smooth and wide. Sub is deep!

Thanks for the feedback Project EX, appreciate it.
If its the song in your sig youre wanting feedback on... then here it is!

For some reason, this reminded me of SebastiAn (french house producer), with the randomness/choppy sort of effect.. and i love sebastiAn! everything flows really well... i liked the first part alot, but after the breakdown, holy hell man! some deeeeeep producton right there!

all in all, i like this song alot! and i couldnt find any fault with it at all man, very unique and fresh in my opinion!

I really don't feel this tune, it's all too grating on the ears for me... sorry,

@paravrais: Yeah I see what you mean about my tunes, thanks for the constructive feedback, it's something to carry through to the next track...........

your track is really nice, I think that intro snare could do with more delay to carry it through but liking that chimy sort of instrument. :)

@Siderealdb: You have some nice pads and melodies going there! Not a big fan of the "rock" part of the
track tbf, the bass as an electric guitar just isn't convincing for me. The breakbeat works nicely with the
metallic snare. Mixwise i think the kick should be spaced out a little bit more for some more body, the slap is ok.
Levels are good. Overall pretty nice track.

@paravrais: Wow i'm digging those instruments in the intro. Breaks are nice, did you make those yourself?
I absolutely love the switchup to the minimal bell piece. Mixing and levels are good. Overall great track!

@impey: Wow splendid production!Love the intro very much. The buildup to the drop should have a bit more elements imo, that's my only remark.
Mixing and levels are pro. Sub is deeeeep. Big big fan !

This one's *almost* finished. Would love some feedback :D

@ Project EX: I'm feeling your tune man. Reminds me a bit of Jon Hopkins - Insides, sans the extreme glitches. Production overall is good, but can i suggest a hi freq lead over the bass? I don't think the bass itself is interesting enough to carry the whole tune. Nice work anyway.

jon hopkins makes some awesome tracks, i'm nowhere near that shit :lol: Thanks for the kind words! I feel you about the lead, I just might revise the track if I can come up with something interesting:)
