Boiler broke a few days ago so had the pleasure of having to wake up to an ice cold shower, which ain't exactly the most comfortable of experiences. Lasted about 2 mins under it, but when I stepped out I felt real invigorated. And walking to work felt in a really good mood and well up for the day ahead.
So read up on it and it seems there are loads of physical and psychological benefits of cold showers and I think i'm now hooked. Bolier was fixed this morning so even with the option of a hot one decided to hit myself with the ice cold, then hot, then back to ice cold. Such a good kick start to the day!
Anyone else into this? Or am I just a masochistic weirdo

Cold showers are dope in the summer because of how much they really wake me up, but its freezing like 75% of the year, so I can't do them otherwise

I try imagine it being a hot day before I step into it, but the shock to the system quickly shatters that illusion! Tis a good buzz though.

yeah they are pretty good, i always find i can never last longer than 30 seconds before cranking the heat back up, but i remember reading a few years ago that doing bursts of ice cold water in the shower can have a good effect on your immune system so try and do it when im not feeling too cold already

Last year had one pretty much every day.
Once you get your armpits wet your body temperature adapts.. quite refreshing actually
But find it effort now, I need comfort first thing in the morning
Once in a while is meant to do wonders for your metabolism

We all want comfort in the morning, but I think thats why its psychologically beneficial. Shock your system, don't give it what it wants, and it'll appreciate what it has once you get the fuck out of there.
This buzz might not last more than a week but i'm well up for tryin to continue with it.
Fuck doin it in Canada though, few degreez too brutal

Sometimes they are the only thing to get me moving. Can't go a day without them when at training camp.

A hot shower's a sanctuary like no other. I love those almost hour long showers tending to the garden and singing 90's boy band tunes...
But to get me energized, slowly turning the temperature down works wonders. I'm just ready to go!

I have an over reactive response to cold water on my face. Proper makes me gasp for breath, weird.
