A picture says a thousand words..... god bless you man I really appreciate it!! I looked through FL's manual/mixer options and couldn't to manage to find anything on this........

The guy who originally responded to me was leading me on a wild goose chase more so than anyone else. My original question was how to route a channel away from the master mix in FL, and his answer was "albino + wow filter"

"Synths:
Z3ta (for cold evil sounds)
Albino (for solid grimy wobs)
Predator (if you got enough time to sort it out, anything you want)
Massive (if your in the vibe of a tune and want cool sound really quick)
I've never used a preset for a bass sound EVER, sure they are great for learning a synth and deconstructing samples to figure out whats going on. But start from scratch, force yourself to spend an entire day just in one synth, save 10 different versions of each sound. The next day go through and listen to those versions, pick the best few, and resample them to the tits. Load up a ton of effects but only process the sound a little bit with each effect. Pay attention to what kind, and in what order you put the effects in and save your "effect processes" in separate projects. Then when you make a new bass you can run it through one of your older "effect processes".
And yeah The Grid on DOA is a gold mine. Use the search lots, and look up resampling techniques (filtering and splitting up frequencies) if your new to this. It's not just for DnB type basses. You can resample any sound and use "effect processes" on anything to beef up every sound in your whole track if you want.
Sure it sounds like a lot of work, and it might take a month to finish a song, but i'd rather do that and have a different sound, then slack off and sound like another sheep in the herd.
Hope this helps ;)"

..i think that was his post anyway

Yeah nothing waste about that man... Midrange Bass = Frequencies within the range of audible human hearing (i.e. not just feeling it or tricking yourself from psychoacoustics) but still capable of heavily interacting with physical objects (like your chest, or the window pane next to you, ect.) It should really, technically, fall on anything a standard 4-5 string organic bass guitar covers as far as frequency spectrum (though bass guitars def. dip into sub as well) + the lower chord frequencies on an organic guitar... Figure say... about halfway up the c3octave, on to the top of 4 if we're working with sines.

Sub Bass = impossible to hear outside of psychoacoustic phenomenon, entirely based on interaction between the physical world and the frequencies (when your chest moves your body thinks its your eardrum now lol) ... Basically the lower half of bass guitars, and open/low chord uprights, ect. Consider the lower half of c3 into the bottom of c2 if your thinking in terms of sines.

Not waste post, giving you two musical terms and definitions you should know

To be fair the dude was clearly referring to the higher midrange/high frequency growly sounds when he made that comment not the lower mid sounds that can still be classified as bass without being as low as a sub.

The growls and 'filth' in a lot of these tracks aren't bass at all and referring to them as bass should rightly be corrected XD they are leads that happen to follow the same or similar note patterns to the bassline.

u can try to use multibands, like multiband compressors bitcrushers and distortion, even try to use it like chain: low band hard compression -> mid band tape distortion -> on high band - a bitcrusher. this works perfect

im not quite sure, what you are referring to, aint that infrabass?
for example, i can hear a 90 hz sine easily with my ears (down to 30hz even).
you cant locate those frequency with your ear thats right.
but feel only bass is below your hearing range,e.g. below 20, thats infrabass.
From http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hearing_range (highlights by me):
Infrasonic (below hearing), sonic (aural), and ultrasonic (above hearing) frequencies are measured in Hertz (Hz); [...]. Specifically, humans have a maximum aural range that begins as low as 12 Hz under ideal laboratory conditions to 20,000 Hz in most children and some adults, but the range shrinks during life, usually beginning at around the age of 8 with the higher frequencies fading. Inaudible sound waves can be detected (felt) by humans through physical body vibration in the range of 4 to 16 Hz.
so the right terminology (IMO) is
infrabass: >20hz
subbass: 20 - 100 hz
mid range cack : >100hz :6:
