Thoughts on this?

Soundcloud

@Jstick: That is very, very smooth. Is this track completely finished? If so, is there any chance that I could get a copy? This is... wow. I'm honestly impressed.
@paul2801: Pretty chill, mate. I like that opening swell > volume modulation. Keep it up.
@Jimbeaux: Strong intro, I think. It's a little hard to differentiate between it and the first verse; if it weren't for the waveform, I wouldn't have known it was an intro at first listen; that's how similar your intro and verse are. A little modulation on the main synth wouldn't hurt.

Here's one of them:

thanks for the comments! what would you suggest as far as vocals go? i think i have a saturator, delay, and something else slapped on there, although they're all set to fairly "dry" settings (dry/wet).

and i dig your track man, i love that wet sound you have after the drop, and the wobble contrasts nicely with the pads and chill sounding drums. definitely start uploading more shit!

@ kikaruu - i like the snare sound. In my opinion, the bass could do with some work. it is a little too dry for my tastes. i like the vocal sample used. i would possibly change the kick drum for a more heavy hitting one, this one used is ratehr metallic sounding... obviously its your track and you like it like this, just my opinions! :)

@ kievccs - Now that is a tune bro! sub bass is nice and heavy! drums are sorta minimal but gives other elements more room!, i like the sorta flutey type sample used (or it might not be a sample)... very nice vibes man, dig it. tight mix!

@jimbeaux - should post this track in the works in progress thread mate... but ill give you a little feedback anyway. The glitchy type elements to it are nice, makes the song roll and flow abit more. The bass is a little too raw for my tastes again, but other than that, it seems to be heading in a good direction! keep on it

New one from A-List.. will be available to download for free soon along with cultural dub!

@Jstick: Thanks, mate; I was trying for the haunting vein that Bar9 is so good at. As far as your other songs... Intense, mate. Is your girlfriend performing all of your vocals? I think that's a neat idea; I might have to work something out like that with my sister.

@A-List: For the dry bass, that's because I made this in an hour and a half with half of a pair of headphones. :( :cry: So everything was done with me listening to the right channel; I was too afraid to throw on the phaser or chorus or any similar modulation as I normally do, since I couldn't get a precise impression of how it would come out. You're right; the kick is really metallic, and aye, it's a stylistic choice. The original song, "Triple Drop" by Bar9, carries a slapback echo on the drums; I was replicating that. Personally, I'm not that big of a fan of it, but this is a remix, so... yeah. Keeping it close to the original.

Thanks for the feedback! When I fix these headphones, I'll be churning out more tracks.

@A-List The song is good but the drum is something yyoull have too work more to get your tune sounding tight, loving the intro loving the 2nd part also

@Bugsky i think it lacks of sub, the mid range part is very harsh and part of the sound quality on the overall track drops when this came in, also the sound itself doesn't sound that good, not bumped me out of my chair i'm sorry

@kikaruu no man, didn't feel it at all, specially when bar9 is nt one of my favorite producers either, the bass its very simple and lack of sub, or maybe it has and i got lost with the mix. definetly needs work as hell

@Badhair loving the vocal part and the intro, the sub is cool but got lost a bit in those pitched notes, i thinks that pitched notes also need aybe a bit of effects just to get a richer sound, good idea though

@Digital native loved the track, even if its not dubstep its good and bassy, drums have a very good different rhythm, the oly thing a would change innit is the lfos on those chords near the end of the track, the shape is very pronounced and sounds kind of weird but not bad.

@jstick: thats sounding tight man

@A-List: sounds smooth man, maybe could switch up a bit more tho

@jimbeaux: brutal man! i think that rough bass could be complimented by some bigger drums

I appreciate the feedback. Yes, I do need to layer a sub underneath - I just split the frequencies up on my audio this time around, so there is a lack of energy there and maybe I need to tweak the freqs in the mid-range. Not sure what you mean about sound quality - although, I did use some 'crusher' to give the track a 'low-fi' feel on some elements. Maybe I overdid it?
I like to hear constructive criticism like this, it really helps me to step back and take a good listen to my tracks to improve.

I took the liberty of listening to 'Breach clip' - the intro is great, but after that I lose interest quickly. The tune doesn't go anywhere. You have some nice subtle elements that come and go, percussive and tonal, though. I realise it's a clip, so I hope that you have a contrasting section or some sort of harmonic change that comes in later. It would be good to fall asleep too.
I have to add, that your track 'Zen' is my personal fav of yours - it's gonna many a listen after a heavy 'sesh' :R: :W:

@RatRaceProducing, Diggin the voicesample!

@jimbeaux, Really cool Bass in Manson, i think the tune has a lack of sub! But otherwives, good tune!

@kikaruu, really really cool idea with the bass! Could be more to the melody!

@ jimbeaux:

that metroid track is pretty nice and full of good ideas.
However, I'd turn up the drums and the sub.

My track is still open for feedback btw (in the sig) :P

@bugsky i meant the sound quality either the wobble doesn't sound that quality as the intro bumping down tha whole song's goodness, or maybe its not sound quality is only that is doesn't match to me :( i´ll change a little bit the filter resonance, and tweak a bit more the wobbles sound and try to come up with a better one, not is like it's bad it's just that always can be better :D

about my clip, inspite it is short definetly i'm up to change his structure and adding some things to change it (i still have a lot of room haha). Maybe it's a little boring because i made this trying to make a really really deep meditative sounds and rich subs. I think in some way i made this on purpose :)

I'll take your advise for sure, Thakyou for listening Zen :) one of my first tunes ever ;)
