I started mixing with torq, after awhile i bought techs and a mixer
got 2 1210s with cases and carts for 400
got a mackie d2 for 300 with a case
it will really sharpen up your ears and all your timing
buying vinyl is expensive, but the sound quality is worth it and plus you get to dig for tunes which will help you fine tune your tastes
go for it
it changed my life

I started out that way 15 years ago and did it for 13 years. A lot of money I could have sank into studio equipment  Being badman record player player is a tad overrated imo. Invest your money elsewhere!

Come back and talk to me in 2020. It's not different strokes, those were MY strokes. It was fun but a waste. Make your own music! In the meantime play mp3's and help save the environment :c:

I think everyone should learn to beat match on vinyl. I recommend some second hand 1210's and a cheap 2 channel pioneer mixer off ebay you can pick them up for about £30!

Then years of practice!

colour. They are the exact same inside.

Find a pair of second hand mk2 Technics on ebay. Go check them out with someone and make sure they are working correct.

I dont think its worth paying extra for the newer models and prefer the mk2 over them. The number of new models i have been on that feel terrible is quite high!

mk2 or stfu.
Don’t worry about people stealing an idea. If it’s original, you will have to ram it down their throats.

I have mkII but prefer the newer models because of the pitch fader. It used to be 1210s where black. I think they have made 1200s in black since tho.

There might be. I seem to remeber seeing something like that somewhere along the line. The problem is when you gig you have to bring them with you. Really tho Serato is the solution that makes the most sense because you can do just that.

In a nutshell...
If you want to learn the true artform of mixing vinyl by ear go analog.
If you want software to do all your bpm counting and beatmatching go digital.
Either way is alright but IMHO analog is way harder but will earn you more respect as a dj from other dj's. Digital is alot easier so your preformance better blow minds or no one will care. That said the common person at a party won't give two shits if your playing vinyl or mp3's, but other dj's and producers will to some extent.
