Indeed, you got two options of what kind of DJ do you want to be...

Play what you want and hope people enjoy it ...

Play what you want till they crowd want something different and then give them what they want.


I tend to opt for #1.

I find it quite cringe worthy when I see DJs who put more effort into posing and mincing around before picking quality records and tight mixing. Got your priority's wrong fella! its more about being center of attention than the music or something.
