@bRRRz - Really liked the intro to this, great build up and nice work on the melodies and the suspense. Didn't really felt like the post drop section did it justice. I imagine your probably more familiar with making music in other ways than producing so that side is gonna take a while to catch up. Basically need to work on your synthesis and mixdowns but the construction of the song and the melodies are mostly pretty sound.

@HeadacheDubs - Cool sounds and some of the midrange growls are better synthesised than others. Overall quite a solid track technically but I found it got quite boring in a lot of the post drop sections. Just felt like various growls and swipes with no melody to it. That style only works in my opinion when the growls have a badass rudeboy melody to follow. Also feels quite empty in the drop, some pads or something would have helped fatten it up,

@Ratraceproducing - Quite cool track, felt the echo-y lead type sound was a bit loud in the mix which prevented me from being able to turn it up to an appropriate level to appreciate the rest. Otherwise the track was quite good, nothing really stood out as outstanding though, snare lacks punch so maybe tweak that. Think drums are one of your weak points overall tbh, they could do with more attention in general. Strong points are quite good attention to detail and nice work on the atmosphere. AAAGH, just realised I was reviewing 'Kush' at the top of the player :\ I definitely clicked on the katy perry mix though, wouldn't let me play it unless I fast forwarded in the bit at the top. Actually I have it playing now and my comments are very similar, drums need work, especially the snare, good work on the atmospheres and vocal tweaking. Some of the eq'ing feels a bit weighted towards the high end so the high end feels slightly mudded and the lower mid is left empty, maybe work on that a bit. That might be partly due to myspace's compression etc though.

@maxtone - Like the general idea of the song and the drums sound nice. Feels a bit *too* empty though and there's not enough progression to keep the track interesting the whole way through. Had to put my headphones in to hear that sub lol (shitty hi-fi speakers), nice and deep and throbbing XD that snare is nice and clacky too. Overall it's a good tune, best one out of what I've heard reviewing in this thread today for sure but could do with some more progression, maybe a sparse echo-y melody at points or something? I dunno man just fill it in a bit more and you've got yourself a real nice tune.

That's the promised feedback sorted, don't forget to comment on my tune posted above!

@The Other Drug

Dude.Jesus H. Christ man, that is serious facerape. I want a 320 once its signed. Any chance you might want a remix of that?
Only thing I think detracts from it slightly is the intro, the drums seem to have no purpose or just a bit random, but that drop almost makes me not care for a fudge.
at 2.14 - didn't dig this part all that much :\ but thats me. Still want this song. good god man. its sick.

@Morah

This jam is GANGSTA
GANGSTA.
cheesy and gangsta. don't think anything could be wrong with the song. maybe more bass? (but there's never enough bass).

@urbannerd62

Love this jam man! Love the garage , fucking gangsta! any copies available?
that glitchy part...jesus man...this is a banger dude. banger. no mash.

I'd like to get copies of each of these songs. otherwise I'll find you, force you to cough it out or I'll just have to kill you. :)

here's a jam I did with my mate Crossman.

Can we please leave feedback when you post your tunes guys otherwise nobody gets feedback. And AnAesthetic it's especially rude to post loads of songs all at once without leaving any crit for anyone else...especially when they are of that quality :s I'd recommend you be a bit more humble in future..

EDIT:

@Phizicist - The track is well mixed down though slightly top heavy, atmosphere in the intro is superb and the synthesis is pretty advanced but as a whole the song just doesn't work for me, the composition is lacking somewhat and there are next to no musical elements in it :\ feel like I'm just a broken record in this thread these days but you can't just make lots of 'filth' and call that a finished product! Even datsik puts more work into his melodies and if someone's telling you that you need to look to datsik to improve on your melodies...you *reallly* need to improve on them lol. Not trying to diss dude, just telling you what you need to improve on. If you got your melodies down then it would be a sick tune. Try really paying attention when you listen to bar9 or datsik, flux pavillion etc etc and you'll hear that it's not just random filthy noises lined up, there's always a melody that they follow no matter how basic!

Here's mine again cos I've been ignored the first time, sad face :( lol

@urbannerd62 - Just had to say even though you didn't leave feedback that track is awesome. Really awesome. I'm always a pretty harsh crit on here cos it helps people to move their sound forward but there is very little bad to say about that track! Really good work man. Great drums, lovely synth work, tight melodies. Keep it up. Maybe slightly top heavy in the mixdown but it's good enough to release as is definitely.

Have left loads of soundcloud comments for folk on here as per usual, would appreciate likewise on my new ones. Uploaded 5 partials a few days ago to my soundcloud, only partials/unfinished as they are upcoming on my first proper released EP soon. Two main tracks are this grimey thing which seems to be going down quite well...

#Centauri nice pad. I like the lowpitched vocalsampling. maybe work some on the variation? I really got annoyed by that thin FX.

#paravais nice filth. but it's not a killer bass, so I'd prefer some more variation on it.

#urbannerd62 :O the offbeat thingey at 0.59 is wicked..... and the vocalsampling is perfect (I'd might chill down with the repeat though). And WOW! What a cool droppppppp!!! I love the LFO-variation and the highpitched synth!! sounds a bit like dutchhouse :) ffs I just love when people produce in their own way :) excellent track mate... best track today :)

#acolddayinhell Cooool ass bass mate! Excellent effects and percussion. Drop was ok. sweet filth, but I think you pause the midranged synth too much. and I don't like that the sub keeps rolling although the breaks. but if you want that much pauses, you have to silence everything, and then maybe a perc och vocalsample or something so you can reload the listeners if you know what I mean. sub was a bit flat aswell. but overall it was a good track, nice mixing and mastering aswell.

#bledbox respect, sir. That was a fucking amazing. killed the flux pavillion remix! vocals feel a bit weird... but it's ok.

Take a listen to any of my tracks in my signature! Post any feedback on soundcloud! :) serious feedback will be returned on desired track.

Wow this tune is deep,love the pads and bass, I'd suggest more variation within the track though, although I'd understand if you wanted to keep the melody simple so maybe experiment with the drums a bit more? I also think you need to bring the snare up in the mix and maybe add some reverb/delay to it to make the mix more interesting

paravrais
I'm feeling the intro section before the drop,but I dunno the drop doesn't really do it for me. Not really keen on the bass sound and the riff itself doesn't seem to be anything special to me, doesn't stick in my head etc. I'm being negative now but I don't want to be, I don't not like it but I think it could be alot better,but at the same time I don't know what to suggest. lol sorry not really very constructive criticism :?

Phizicist
loving a lot of the sounds you've used in this track, espicially the synthy stabs in the background before the drop, and some of the more filthy noises too are pretty dope. The track varies alot and doesn't get boring too quickly. I do however think you need a punchier and louder snare

@paravrais: WOW! Thats the first bad comment I've had about our song.
Jesus H. Christ thanks man! Now I know where to fix shit up! I swear, I'll make the next jam kill!
Do you know any good books where I could learn scales and keys and where they'd be most suited in the song?

Thanks again for the remark,really do appreciate it man!

Haha it's all good, I don't like to kiss people's asses in these threads. Sometimes I'm a bit over harsh but I figure that's better than not telling people where they've gone wrong. Dunno what to suggest about learning theory though, I'm not so hot on it myself, at least not with 'basslines'. All I can suggest is play your keyboard with just a piano sound on it every now and then and experiment with playing melodies and chord progressions. That and pay a lot more attention when your listening to other tunes and try and figure out what kind of progressions they've made. Then steal 'em and tweak 'em XD

Cheers for the feedback on my tune everyone, is the overall consensus that the synth patch of the heavy bassline isn't as up to scratch as the rest of the song? I will have to go back and work on it. Used to make filth and been doing ambient stuff for ages and just gone back to filth, guess I need to settle into the whole making grandma shit her diaper thing a bit more before I can make this style again! Also is everyone feeling that the riff isn't good enough or just the one person? Cos I dunno if I can write a better one than that that will still fit with the rest of the tune lol. Maybe I'll add some more minor variations?? Anyhow cheers for the feedback again, taking everything on board here!

thanks for the lovely comments on my latest tune guys! now to get on some of yours...

a-list - feel for me; sounds you used in the intro give off some great vibes. that vocal is fresh too. nice fat sub, and your percussion sounds well thought out. only advice would be to bring those drums up a bit more, could just be me but i think they're a bit low in the mix. classy tune tho man, good job.

huia drums - turn it up; im in love with the drums in the intro, way to put that 808/909 drum pack to good use. i think as the track progresses it lacks the introduction of more sounds, makes it come off as a bit boring when you listen to the whole thing. try adding some more variation maybe? definetley feeling this tho

headache dubs - gun shit; this ones pretty heavy man. intro doesn't flow well into the track imo, but once it gets goin it has a pretty nice flow. subbass sounds good, got some nice synths in there as well. good job on this one

paravrais - epilouge; nice synths, drums are more original than most, sounds better than the usual kick 1 snare 3 drum pattern i hear in most tearout. i think the sub could be a bit more prominent in your main synth pattern, but thats just me nitpicking. nice stuff here brotha!

morah - select; nice electro-ish synths in the intro. love what you did to those vocal bits too. LFO's are fckn heavy here! nice 8 bit groove you got goin on, gwan den mr.morah!!!

the other drug - metal gear; cant help but to love the intro, me being a huge metal gear fan. wowzerz dude.. you got yourself a helluva smasha here, would rip through a rave man. bigup

resettheatari - all junglist; hahahaha i lol'd cause some mentioned somethin about porno in your soundcloud comment. gotta admit, it is pretty damned sexy here. not really feelin the synth to be honest, sounds a bit off. i feel like this track couldve went in alotta different directions after hearing the intro. your rave track is fckn sick though!!

will be back on to leave more feedback later tonight, cheers guys! :e:
