yo maybe this should be in the tunes/releases section but just wanna get a little convo/thought on the whole synth led wonky/purple mad nintendo analogue sounds that these geezers come up witn. Joker did have it and alot can still do it. For example take B. Bravo, computer love......the whole skwee thing, mensah, gemmy, even mount kimbie to an extent (although not as bright sounding)

Alot of this shit is just straight badass and in my opinion a fantastic example of how dubstep and its it's innovative producers have created a massive new "pallet" for electronic music. This shit has bare soul and accessibility and is neither predictable nor too commercial sounding.

I've posted this in the house music section cos we often make the point that its the "good music section". Wots interesting is that more and more of the guys round here are happy to drop their association with dubstep despite there is still so many good (dubstep) producers about and so much music that has been overlooked because of the pace at which this whole movement has moved forward the last few years.

it may not be all about the dubstep thing as much anymore but peeps should recognise where this insanely diverse movement has come from.

There aint no name for it (this movement/sound) and as a dj/promoter in a dumbass un-clued up town thats sometimes annoying, but the links and common ground that exist between the sounds, labels, producers, clubs etc are just based upon a common appreciation. its just bass music innit.

there's so much of it now and so much defo has a certain infectiousness. big tingz big tingz big tingz. :Q:

pls pls just keep it varied innit.

just a twated rant btw. pls join in with any thoughts!!!

safe

yeah it's hotshit. some people call it skweee as there are a lot of really close connections. this is a donkey pitch mix and the donkey pitch boys performed at the massive skweee marathon in helsinki last may. they've featured some skweee artists at their night like daniel savio. cocoa bryce is closely associated w/ all these guys and he turns up on most of the skweee compilations and definitely reps skweee. it's a newer skweee sound that combines what the o.g. guys from sweden and finland do w/ the wonky sound of hudmo/mike slott/flylo etc. other folks in the game: niño, mweslee, becoming real, rekordah.

haha yea of course it's not house....sorry we all bend the rules a little sometimes.

Just a latenight fuelled rant. Came home in a wee state and put these on and wow! ... such a strong e.p.

Felt it was cool sticking it in here as there's obvious links when u look at wot Jackmaster, Ramp and nightslugs are doing.

Guess the point i was trying to make is that i love the diversity and openess of the scene and producers/labels involved and i feel there still a strong link to dub-step to be found.
Just a little annoying that people feel the need to drop their association with dubstep....just thoughts really.

Don't wanna see a full blown house revival or mass of reapeats (of wots gone b4) at the expense of this amazingly colourful musical landscape that dubstep created and currently exisits in the uk.

And Titched, nice one for the suggestions.
