I hate it when people say a certain artist will 'save' a genre of music. If you think it needs saving at all you're probably an elitist fanboy.

I pretty much agree with this.

There is so much good music about, threads like this amaze me...

tbh it does need saving, but it's not something a single artist can do. it requires a unified movement from the heart of the scene. and i'm pretty sure the OP didn't really mean it seriously anyways.

Shit tons of people like Boregore, Datsik and Skrillex or whoever. There is nothing you can do about that. You can't forcefeed people music that they don't like. There are tons of great artists within dubstep who's sound varies quite a bit but the mass public don't want to hear it, they want the commercial emofartstep. Whatever. Maybe just maybe some of these people will get bored of that stuff and search out deeper selections and the rest of us reap the benefits. If anything awareness needs to be created. Dubstep needing saved is crazy talk but it's an attention getter sp fair play.

I can think of tonnes of artists who've produced better tunes that these girl ones. Beats and bass are good but the music is really throwaway.

the only person that will save dubstep is Gary Barlow. It was written in the stars from the day he first graced the stage with take that as a young sapling.
