Just wanted to make a quick post to let everybody know about a new label I'm starting called Deceast. The label will be focused on the deep/techy/soulful sides of bass music across different genres and tempos. The first few releases are going to be Dubstep or music heavily influenced by it, but future releases from the label will featuring all kinds of styles such as liquid D&B, instrumental downtempo/hip-hop, house and more. The label is distributed by S.T. Holdings and the first release comes out on November 1st.
The full release details and audio samples are available below, any feedback is much appreciated!

Label: Deceast
Catalog #: DEC001
A: Bro Safari - "Amazon Rock"
B: Mayhem & Section 8 - "Miles In The Sky"
Genre: Dubstep
Release Date: November 1st, 2010
"Amazon Rock" by Bro Safari is a dubby yet glitchy song that folds together two typically disparate electronic sounds. With skanking guitar samples and a reggae-tinged vocal that has been disembodied by a spattering of IDM edits, "Amazon Rock" rides the line well and would easily occupy the space between different styles in a DJ set. "Miles In The Sky" by Mayhem and Section 8 is an upbeat, running number with driving drums and techno stabs reminiscent of Basic Channel - it has peak hour energy but forgoes the conventional wobble wisdom of dubstep dancefloor appeal. Both tracks pack enough sub-bass to rattle even the strongest of structures.
Bro Safari is an alias of Knick, 1/3rd of the multi-genre monster known as Evol Intent, the Drum & Bass / IDM project that has spawned side projects like Treasure Fingers, Computer Club, and Ludachrist. The Evol Intent name is held in high regard around the globe, having established themselves as some of the most talented and innovative producers of electronic music in recent years.
Mayhem is best known for his Drum & Bass releases spanning nearly a decade and his specialty neurofunk label Shadow Law Recordings. He's collaborated with Noisia ("Moonway Renegade" and "Exodus" on the legendary Ram Records, with the latter featuring vocals by KRS-ONE), Phace, Black Sun Empire and many others. He's recently expanded into dubstep with releases on Subway and Dubline and has seen his original production "Split Second" remixed by dubstep stalwart Scuba of Hot Flush Recordings. Section 8 is an emerging artist out of Atlanta, GA who has releases spanning a number of digital labels and is certainly a name to watch in 2010.
