Does Dubstep have a bright future?

Post by notts57 » Mon Nov 01, 2010 11:31 pm

What does everyone think of the current state Dubstep is in? I'm going to put my own views on this... In my opinion, Dubstep has already seen a slight downfall in regard to it's original sound, I personally love (as you'd probably gather from my posts so far) Digital Mystikz's old sound, aswell as artists such as Noah D and Slaughter Mob... With all this noisy stuff coming through, where do you think Dubstep will be in the next few years? Will it do a D&B and die, and then come back again? Or could it do a breakbeat and die altogether? Obviously I'm asking these questions based on my opinions but feel free to comment.

Depends on your definition of dubstep

I think that electronic dance music of all sorts is having bright moments right now and will continue to!

There's bound to be good dubstep as long as people keep making it and playing it and stop going on about how it's lost it's way and pretentiously fannying about calling what they play stupid other names that involve the word "future" or "bass" somehow.

there have been sooooo many awesome releases (the dj nature 12s have made my year) in so many genres, probably less than half of my purchases are dubstep. but that being said, i buy a lot of records.

but some epic dubstep releases have come this year, notably the trg on hemlock. really seems like an overlooked record.

there will allways be a noisy tear-out side to any genre, electronic music is the best it's ever been right now i think, so much good shit about, plus all the old stuff.. add it all up and rock out yeah :5:

anyway, this thread.. :H:

been done to death, i'm only posting because my girlfriend fell asleep and i'm sat here on her laptop browsing this forum till i fall asleep.

these smileys are quite fun actually.

With all the whining on this site, you'd think it's going down.
