There's room in the world for all of us :w:

I can completely see why Night Slugs has been given RA Label Of The Year...Everything they've released has been top quality, as well as original.

Still Deamonds...maybe a bit flippant mate...Quite right, people would be incorrect to write off Night Slugs in a comparison to a production outfit like Kryptic Minds...not due a vast difference in music quality, but because the music each put out are not entirely comparable in style. Different vibes.

Still big up Night Slugs...Bok Bok & L-Vis tore apart FWD when I saw em the same was they tore apart every club I've seen them.

And...for the record...Kryptic Minds tore FWD apart that very same night....but, hey-ho.
I don't turn on Korn to get it on, I be playin Digi Mystikz 'til the dawn

so you're saying you didn't like ANYTHING by kryptic minds this year?

@deamonds: wasn't wing pedantic friend, just don't want this to be about what is or isn't dubstep, both in terms of girl unit and night slugs for label of the year. All I'm saying is I like girl unit and I think night slugs is awesome. Both are undefinable. Let's just leave it at that.

@herbs: word! I'm also feeling something you said in another thread: "the key is positivity"

:w:

Girl unit fact mix is on point. Is it cheesy that I love when the ayo instrumental drops? I guess it all comes down to how much you like timbo. I'm a fan. Aaliyah, Genuine, Magoo and Missy.. Magical ish for me. I even put some bubba sparx and futuresexlovesounds on sometimes, really great stuff imo. Also have a love for old cash money beats, military snares and what not... i am from texas, lol. A lot of present day stuff has that same feel, either in the beats, mids or both, and I really like that. Stuff like some of girl unit, salem, the dream, joker, rustie, moscas tilt shift, OooOoo, etc... I like the different evolution of the sound...

Not that it all came from Timbo, lord knows that man doesn't need anymore ego -w-

Not to sound like a kiss arse after you just agreed with me or anything.....but I am with you on everything you said just then.

Proper Timbo production is the one. The stuff in the last 5 years (Futuresex aside, which I think worked perfectly and is a classic pop record) has been too polished, mainstream driven and quite clearly solely to make money....Which I think goes back to Beat Club going bust.

Anyway....Night Slugs...ha

if you are a hourly cumshedder who sits on his dildo most fridays reading dubstepforum (sorry, punchmyselfinthefaceforum) then you will undoubtedly be confused as to why nightslugs are being called 'label of the year'.

Agreed.

I grew up on hip-hop and mehh as well.

It's a good tune, but I have no clue what most people in this thread are on about.

I think it's fucking comedic Timbaland got shit all over earlier this year, then apparently a few months later a song openly noted as sounding timbaland-ish is one of the tunes of the year. Fix up kids.

Girl Unit are very talented ... IRL is fantastic. Not really feeling their synth driven bits as much. Sounds a bit too much like all of the hip-pop stuff we're getting bombarded with in the states.

I don't think most dance oriented artists make it big on their best material, they make it big on whatever has the broadest appeal.

Tbf, just many people were bigging up timbo as were bashing him. Myself & plastician amongst others.

The only tune I think I'm not feeling is the juke mix of bag lady, but then again, I've only heard that on mix in the car

I've got a feeling we haven't seen shit yet from this guy

So what your saying is your bored of the sound? Still a stupid ass statement- who doesn't like some variety in a set? Loefah's b.low set featured 'Just After Sunset' by Kryptic Minds as well as 'IRL' by Girl Unit- I've only ever played one live show and I was sure to drop a Girl Unit as well as a KM track- both deliver quality productions everytime. And in regards to timing of their releases, again it seems silly- how can music be late or early or acceptable at this time but not at another? I dunno honestly sounds like you just wanted to rant about KM

amen brother! imo, what makes a "plodder", as he liked to call it, stand out is when it is presented in the midst of swing and shuffle
