Deadmau5 just impressed me again. He's been trying his hand (unsuccessfully imo) at dubstep lately and now he's finally got something that's sick and has a signature sound of its own. Drop is at 5:02. Of course there's tons of deadmau5 haters...and haters' gonna hate, but Deadmau5 deserves props for this.

to be honest i think i was always going to be negative listening to this, but quite objectively i don't see how this is demonstrates a signature sound of his own. nothing new imo, been done before

what i'm getting at is that it has a deadmau5 style production. When i first heard the tune, without knowing the track name or artist, the first thing I thought was "This sounds like deadmau5 could have made it", and he did. It's a bang'n tune, and has a groove that's easy to listen to over and over again. I've been looping it.

Sorry I think what you meant to say was "Oh no one of the biggest edm artists on the planet is co-opting our sound and trying to cash in on dubstep."

This tune is terribly generic and I'm not saying that out of Deadmau5 hate since i really don't rate him at all. This sounds like 9000 other tunes from 900 other artists.

Sounds like genericStep. There about 10000 kids who have made tunes like this up on soundcloud only difference is they don't have a million fans who will jump on the "dubstep" bandwagon the minute their beloved deadmau5 makes a track. And if Magnetic Man made a house tune it would be awkward.
