Re: FINISHED TRACKS FOR FEEDBACK-- NOVEMBER 2010
@ Narrator: Man I love where it switches from halfstep to sort of a breaks kinda feel. Also killer use of samples, I think I heard some brass or almost orchestra sorta samples during the second drop. The only thing I could advise is a bit thicker atmosphere and maybe some stereo imaging or compression on the mids to make your bass a bit fatter. But thats me being really nit picky with a nearly perfect track.
@ Sinisterbeats: Seriously great track. Your high hats just have such a great vibe to them, they're sorta clean but dirty, and they have such a killer rhythm to them. Is that a sample or sequenced out? Great mixdown from what I can tell (although I'm not really the guy to ask about mixdowns). I would love a 320 of this!
@ Moonman: Good first track! It's pretty clean sounding production wise which is sweet. Maybe try adding some atmosphere, perhaps through some reverb on your snare, or just a tad of reverb on your midrange wobbles to give the track some depth.
@ Pete Miles: Killer! It's really full sounding. I'd really like to have a 320 of this to drop at my jump up sets. I love that you don't just have a typical half step beat, it's actually got some substance, and your midrange bass is backed with some pretty killer bass, which is wonderful! I can't actually think of any advice for this one, basically a perfect track! It reminds me of the way Nero sorta mixed some trance with their dubstep, but to be honest this is way tighter than the Nero stuff!
@ Zonetrooper5: I'm not familiar with too much ambient stuff like this, but it's pretty wicked! At first I thought your bass/synth was a bit too low in the end of Dream State, but by the end of it I actually think it was in the right spot, it didn't overpower anything, but it was still there. If that makes any sense haha. Also great use of samples, I love the delay on the last sample (at least I think it was delay) that just sorta filled out the acoustic space.
Here's my last track. It started off as an experiment in atmospheres/textures, since I suck at that, and I also wanted to experiment with the deeper side of dubstep since I usually put out mid range wob wob wobs. I'm not sure really what to call it, it kinda feels a bit jazzy at the end, but maybe that's just me. Anyways, I know it's 7 minutes long, so if you don't wanna listen to it, that's all good, I understand haha.

Cheers from Canada!

@bigfootspartan - thanks mate. The hats are all sequenced, really pleased them them myself. Think the mixdown could do with some more work although im fairly pleased with it. Sent you a link on SC for a 320. The track youve posted is great! Really nice use of verb, lots of detail. The pads are really good aswell.

Re: FINISHED TRACKS FOR FEEDBACK-- NOVEMBER 2010
bigfootspartan, that's a pretty decent track you've got there. the only things that I wasn't so into was something with the texture of the bass...maybe needs to be lowpassed or something, but the higher frequencies sounded like they were out of tune or clashed. Also, was less into the snare you added in the second half and didn't like the beats as busy as they were by the end. But overall it had a really nice sound and I dug it.
Re: FINISHED TRACKS FOR FEEDBACK-- NOVEMBER 2010
@ Pete Miles: Fuck mate, those drum *.*. Really killing it. Cool drop also. Vocal fits in nicely.
Nothing i could really criticize. Mix is clean, levels all right. Again: maaaaaan those drums!!
Excellent job! Started following you on Soundcloud.
@ Resykle: Dunno man, not really feeling the tune tbh. A bit too random for me to get into.
The vocal is cool, but don't know if it fits in.
@ bigfootspartan: Wow you definitely nailed the Burial-style there. Great use of reverb, awesome
texture through the track overall. Digged the middle part of the track the most, the female vocal
works very well there. Overall very good job on a quality tune!
This is my latest tune. It's a remix of the Black Pokélover video (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-XsSoMBVF3w).
I plan to make a synced video to go with the track. I'd love some feedback of course

thank you, that means a lot to me. I wanna work on the mid bass really badddd, but im having issues getting that right sound. I love your track man, that melody is killer!therook wrote:@arisemprex - Fuck me. Sick track. The guitar sounds like its from avenged sevenfold. Sub bass is heavy. Mid Bass is pretty cool sounding.
Heres another track of mine. A little more reggae feel to it, its still a work in progress, but so far its revolving around that melody in the intro.

@bigfootspartan: Sick sample, very nice bass, nice lot of reverb. Drums needed to be brought out a bit, i didnt feel myself bopping along, apart from that its nice and deep!
@TRaffikz: Really nice feel to your track, i think the drums were too loud for the rest of the track, but even then, was really feeling it!
@arisemprex : Mate thats very creative, feeling this lots, i love the drop into the bass... sick effort mate

Re: FINISHED TRACKS FOR FEEDBACK-- NOVEMBER 2010
@ +3 - Nice but some better work on formatting the bass to make it deeper.
@ Legsskeatch - I suppose you know how to do the basics with creating a bass and a wobble etc etc but the concept of the actual track is quite basic, it lacks genuine novelty or anything new. Perhaps try experimenting to create something unique?
@arisemprex - damn sick tune. My style of things! Loving it. A few go overs to improve your mix downs, a harder kick and a nice solid sub bass to follow the rhythm of the melody and this track would sell!
My latest! All comments appreciated along with anyone cheeky enough to litter my soundcloud with commments! woop!

Re: FINISHED TRACKS FOR FEEDBACK-- NOVEMBER 2010
@mypassgone - that snare just comes up and smacks me in my face. I'm diggin the bass drop and wobbles. Interesting tune.
@bigfootspartan - nice dark intro. Deep bass and has a very nice minimal sound and the samples are pretty cool. 2nd drop was intense. Definitely would smoke to this song. 320?
@TRaffikz - Sick pokemon sample lol. Snare and gun samples are sweet. Nice reese bass. Sounds good!
@arisemprex- Bro you're reggae song is very nice. Love the guitar bro sounds amazing! The mid bass is pretty decent. I think if you added a heavier sub bass instead of the mid bass you have now it would sound good. (Check out round the way girls by rusko - i think it is.)
@legskeattch - Nice melody bro. I like your lead. Very heavy sub...I like that! Drums sound nice and the bass is good too !
@+3 - Nice atmosphere sound and the sample is a nice touch!. I like the garage feel / shuffle... Dance floor tune for sure. Bass sounds nice too, maybe a little heavier.
@dj seizure - congas sound nice. I like the chill vibe and feel. Sounds very african / arabic to me. Always cool to hear something fresh.

@ dj seizure: really nice track, awesome use of percussive sounds, are these samples or some vsti ?
@ +3: love the 2step-ish feel on this one, excellent production, maybe a bit too short if anything
@ legskeatch: sweet ravey lead, but i feel the snare could be cutting through the mix a little more, and maybe the hihats could be louder, i'd also suggest adding some more fx and variations to the wobbles to keep it interesting throughout
now, if any of you guys want to check out my latest beat:

@defaultuzr Cool track. Loving the glitchy style. Mixdown sounds good. Nothing i can criticise. Great work!
@dj seizure Nice bongo rhythms. All i can say is really enjoyed it! Keep it up
@+3 Another cool track but way too short.... I feel like you could do some great progression with that track. Production sounds good. Keep working on it in my opinion.
All the time i have at the moment sorry. Will try to leave more feedback later.
Heres mine, let us know what you think

Re: FINISHED TRACKS FOR FEEDBACK-- NOVEMBER 2010
@conflux - like the dubby rythmn but i think the kick could have more power and presence and the snare with some more reverb or even delay effect goin on (personal taste though)
@dfaultuzr - really enjoyed this one. can't fault it really.
@ogunslinger - soundslike the mixdown needs a a touch up as in the snare seems a bit loud and dry in the mix (?) cant really tell, but something is not sitting right for me.
one from us, have fixed the mixdown a little

Re: FINISHED TRACKS FOR FEEDBACK-- NOVEMBER 2010
80% of the track was recorded live, as in I sat about and messed with a load of instruments, came home and cut them up! woopdfaultuzr wrote:@ dj seizure: really nice track, awesome use of percussive sounds, are these samples or some vsti ?
Re: FINISHED TRACKS FOR FEEDBACK-- NOVEMBER 2010
@dj seizure: really interesting sounding - I really like the xylophone (forgot what it's actually called) that comes in later on.
@+3: Really nice, dark, harrowing track. I'd just say maybe bring out the highs and lows a bit more, it's sounding a tad flatter than it could be right now.@
@arisemprex: sick track - you can really tell that the guitar is live. Nice and energetic, I just think something more could be done with the modulated synth in the background.
@sinisterbeats: really dark and sinister - does what it says on the tin I guess
. Would just say to alternate the percussion a little bit more, since nearly all the high end frequencies are riding on them. The ambience in the back is sick.
@bigfootspartan: really really sick progression. Really feel that bass coming through and the white noise makes it all nice and chilling. Really adds suspense to the whole track. Downloading, for sure! All really smooth and excellently produced.
@spencetron: Can't really say much, since it's not really my style - but the mixdown has been done well, possibly needing a tad more mastering just to bring out some of those frequencies.
@therook: really nice chilled out vibes. Like the melody you've got going on there. I think there's a bit more you could do with that snare though. Maybe a bit more clicking
.
Here's my new track - have spent forever on it. Not really dubstep at all, just some weird ambient stuff with plenty of dubstep elements in there:
