After the massive success of the last onlyjoe event it would be bad manners not to follow it up with another session! With the cold nights now stretching out for longer, why not let the summery sounds of some good reggae-influenced music thaw out ya bones?
Hylu & Jago have been grafting hard over the last few years. These two regularly play out at events ranging from Dub Pack to Trouble Vision, and have performed at Festivals like Outlook and Secret Garden Party. With tons of their own dubplates and a whole crew of collaborative artists, you can never be sure which extended family members will turn up. Expect a whole entourage of special guests including onlyjoe, members of Congo Natty, We Are Dubist, Galak from the Parisian group The L.I.A.R.Z, the beautiful voice of Creole, and maybe even more. Watch out!
By now you’ve probably realised that the Organix team are constantly on the look-out for new talent, and with that in mind you can expect to be introduced to some very special young-blood discoveries!
First up, you will have the opportunity to listen to Sleepy Time Ghost as he is released into the wild. A new-comer to playing out on the London club scene, but by no means an amateur. With a backlog of heavy productions behind him, ranging from jazz-influenced hip-hop, all the way through to progressive dub and experimental heavy weight riddims, this is guaranteed to be a killer set to start the night off in full swing.
Next, still bloodied and sweating from the battle of Dubscover, is 18-year old EverWrit, who has the head of a much older producer on his shoulders. With a vast back-catalogue of his own material this young pioneer's dedication and commitment to music speaks for itself, and it will be a surprise if he drops anything but his own tracks. So prepare to traverse some untouched musical terrain!
Most of you will know Mr. Greggae already. If you don't ... where have you been hiding? At the last event he dropped seamless mixes of roots/reggae/dancehall classics, and even the unexpected re-fix here and there. It would have been foolishness to have missed out on an encore!
D-Tek, onlyjoe family member, and true junglist, brings some of the baddest, ruffest sounds. Anyone who is old enough to remember the original sound, this is for you, and anyone who doesn't know, then this is the perfect junglist soundboy schooling set. Oldies bring your skanking shoes, and the youth, bring a pen and paper.
Last but not least is Priors, who has over ten years experience as a DJ, and extensive knowledge of the scene, having played out all over the place - from London’s underground nightclubs to residencies in Ibiza. With a litany of accolades to his name, including top-ranking positions in both New Wave and Drum n’ Bass Arena competitions (to name a few) this guy is definitely one to watch out for! He disappeared from the London scene for a spell, but is now back with a lung full of fresh oxygen to keep the night energized!
