i just dont like how he got so many views on youtube and because of that whenenver u search dubstep on youtube u will see most of his videos and then newcomers to dubstep will just base all their dubstep knowledge and taste on mt eden and then thats bad for two reasons. either like mt eden and then only look up similar sounding tunes orrrrr they hate the sounds and dont bother looking up other dubstep artists because theyre like 'ok dubstep is obviously shit' because people tend to generalise...........this is like the 10000th time ive said this but yeahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh back to Black Ops :Q:

agreed with this also...i hate it when people are like, "oh you're into dubstep? i hate it, it's just noise!"
and when you reply with "its not all like that" you just get, "yeahh all dubstep sounds the same"
cant blame mt eden for that entirely though, but know ive just learnt to let people get on with it, if they think
its all noise, they'll miss out on the good stuff. im just glad magnetic man added some diverse vibes to their album
so that all of those little sceneshaggers who went to buy the album ended up with a face like this :? when it didnt all sound like i need air

Another thread on them?

and again someone says it's jealousy?

That's the weakest argument. I don't like S Club 7's music but that's not because I'm jealous.

The reason that Mt Eden suck is because they make incredibly poorly produced cheap remixes of tracks with absolutely no emotion or atmosphere or anything remotely resembling creativity behind them

the level to which he gets rinsed is deffo ridiculous....
im about the millionth person to have said this but, if you dont like something, stop listening and move on till you find something you DO like....
I can kind of see why them having over 5million hits on Sierra Leone might piss people off considering the lack of originality and depth of production on it, when others slave for hours over ur own non-remixed tunes and get no exposure.
But YouTube hits mean fuck all really, will have been largely teenagers who want nice accessible nice melodies, its not part of the dubstep scene- mt eden does not get played out in clubs, on the radio, in mixes so unless you are looking for it on YouTube, you dont have to deal with it.
Sierra Leone got my girlfriend into Dubstep before I met her and now she listens to some heavyweight shit and pumps money into decent grassroots labels like Tectonic and Tempa, tickets for nights out etc, so even if MT Eden doesnt represent what dubstep really is about then at least it gives a bit of exposure to it so they can find the good stuff later...

anyway i dont really give a fuck its 5.30 i can fuck off home now peace

Well, thank you guys from giving me some straightforward answers..

I understand where some of you are coming from now, that's all I wanted.

I still don't doubt there's many people, who's main reason for disliking Mt Eden, is because people on here dislike them..

But its all good, we all have our opinions :D

Imma lock this, because there's bare other threads about Mt. Eden and not liking them and somehow the OP got decent responses. Props.

If anyone needs this thread re opened to post their burning hatred for Mt Eden, PM Sharmaji.
