What HiFi setup do you lot have?

Post by murky21 » Thu Nov 18, 2010 11:49 am

ez, not strictly production but falls under the hardware tag underneath so... :)

I have been really into my hifi for years and was interested to hear what hifi separates setup everyone has to blaze their tunes on?

My system has recently got as good as going to get without having to replace key components, its my neighbours worse nightmare and my favourite possession in the whole world

2 x B&W 603 S1 Floorstanders

These are bi-amped- Bass/ Mid powered by a Tag Mclaren 60P Power amp, with the treble powered by a Tag Mclaren 60i integrated.

Marantz CD6003 CD Player

All high quality CA interconnects

Allen + Heath Xone:32 mixer with two decks with Ortofon Scratch carts

Struggling to find ways to add to the system to improve, was thinking of getting a B&W sub to add extra power to <100hz but dont want to muddy up the systems sound..

what is everyone else rinsing?

He's a good lad, drives a tram round Croydon and on the weekend makes soundsystems. Very handy bloke to know.

I actually don't have a hifi setup at all. Just two pairs of monitors. I'd like to set up a vintage setup eventually. I have a subwoofer from the 70s I found on a job a few yeas back. I'd like to get some tops to compliment it.

decent, one of the standard production pairs or the all-out badman concept speakers (below)?

I would quite literally swap my girlfriend for a pair of these

anyone thinking of buying speakers I couldnt recommend the b&w range enough, ridiculous warmth and weight even in the really old ones you can find on ebay like the old B&W DM110's

My set-up probs ain't gonna come off that great (expecting you lot to have unbelievably systems haha) but it's my pride and joy cause I got it when I was 15 [19 now] and bought it with my own money, took me so fucking long to save for it. And I do think the sound off it's pretty nice for the money.

Rotel RA-04 Integrated Amp
Denon TU-1800DAB Tuner
Rotel RCD-06 CD Player
Rega P3 Turntable
B&W 686 (unfortunately wallmounted cause I'm so short of space).
