This is me.Robo8 wrote:I think the music you produce comes from your subconscious, so you can start to see where it's taking you the more you make. At least this seems to be the case for me.Mumble wrote:Im not sure if I want to make people dance or think though, havent figured that one out yet.
I never really "hear a song in my head" as others here say thay do, more like a piece of one. Once I start to make the song, it morphs and takes it's own course, at which point I'm more like a medium. Anyone else like this?

It's all about sitting at your studio naked, with 9 pint cans next to you, one in a pint glass in your hand, some sket who just cost you £38 sitting on your lap grinding away, while you're making a tunefutures_untold wrote:It's healthier than drinking ten pints of lager each Friday shaggin' some sket and waking up with 2 bob change from 40 quid...

i started making tunes in 95
i started making tunes cos hardly anyone was making the sort of noise i wanted to hear
so i made some tunes like what i wanted to hear
more people make the tunes i like now
thanks to the internet its easier to find those mongols
30 records and 14 years later i still make tunes (out of habit)

im 15 (nrly 16) years of age and have been making beats serously (as in i know a bit of what im doing) for about 9 days now. joined this forum about 3 days ago, after getting into dubstep and (shock horror) D'n'B at roughly the same time, and had heard about it somewhere (probably sub FM or something) i got into producing because i wanted to get involved ;>
Roll dat
I'm over 300 years old, chinese, and started producing during the Ming Dynasty. They weren't ready. I was almost killed for this Dubstep sh*t and went into hiding, but not before sending two clones of myself into the world to begin the movement at the proper time. You know them now as Benga & Skream. I then perfected my skills until the genre reinvented itself as the prophecy said it would... This is it, children. The moment of Revelation. I stand before you a testimate to time, the original Dub Monster.
I produce because it is MY WILL.

the thing that really triggered it for me was goa/fullon psytrance, god theres some really trippy tunes out there and I was soo curious of how to make this, so downloaded fruityloops years ago and literally from day 1 I went on a massssiveee learning journey not going through a day without opening FL studio, for some reason I cant work properly in it now though the program proper annoys me if I try and do some serious shit in it, I just use it for simple loops (once a month orso hehe) nowadays, the reason I got into cubase is because some friends around me were using that and telling me to make the switch! so glad I did...
Re: Why Do You Produce?
Because basically, I liked electronic music so much I thought I would give it a go myself and there were one or two producers that lived in my halls showing me some pretty tight shit and I thought "Why not"
Re: Why Do You Produce?
because it's the only thing nowadays I can do for 10+ hours and not get bored
Re: Why Do You Produce?
Because I just love making stuff.
I like to ask people why they don't produce???
I just don't get people who don't like being creative.

Got in to music from my dad, starting playing drums, my dad was my teacher!
From that my love for music just grew, starting getting into more electronic music kinda stuff.
Blew my mind what you could do on a computer, all the sounds and you could make
I love the way music can make me feel

Re: Why Do You Produce?
Always felt the need to create, and I feel producing is one (if not the best) way to do so..
Was going to get into it for the hip hop, but I've discovered techno, and other great genre's since then, only recently have I started putting serious effort into it, when I discovered Dubstep..
I'm 15, I produce because it takes effort, you can't just get up and do it one day, you have to learn, and you never stop learning.
Self taught/teaching, not planning on going to a uni or anything, maybe I might to get the certificate or whatever, might help in the future?
Dubstep seems so much more creative than any other genre I have experienced, it just never stops surprising me.
