Something to be aware of though... Atheism seems to strive to convert people away from a belief system; it wouldn't continue to exist once the goal is achieved. Religions cannot exist if they have a true ending point, other than false promises of things in an afterlife that a current life can't offer

yes, you're losing your grip, reality can change and it's normal to make mistakes and live with them for years. that's one of the things that make life interesting and fun: discovering them nd using that to discover some more. it's like a detective story at an universal scale and one day someone will discover the secret of the universe and "the end".
