This one is for the classic folder.
Don’t worry about people stealing an idea. If it’s original, you will have to ram it down their throats.

As someone mentioned above, the Thomas Penton packs are good quality.

An don't be put of by the fact he's a progressive house/trance producer. Some solid kicks, snares and other percussion that could be used for all sorts of genres.

I believe I'm explaining this right, someone else might have to correct me, but
Threshold is at what level your compressor kicks in and starts working, ratio is how much the signal is compressed. So at a ratio of 1:1, for every db above the threshold the signal reaches, you hear that 1 db of volume. ie no compression. 2:1 means for every two dbs above the threshold, the output only actually gains 1 db of volume. Just apply that forward... 5:1 is 1 db for every 5 above threshold, 10:1 is 10 for 1...
With that being said, play around, and figure it out. There's no preset you can always use. Play around.

A good 909 will cut through most mixes has real punch around 70-90kz. It really depends on the kick you're using I tend to play around with the eq and just mess around with it until it starts to fit. Its just messing with the eq essentially to get stuff to fit etc or alternatively using a filter hi pass/low pass filter.
