Rabid Grannies is awesome!

Troma is the one of my favorite film production companies and all their movies are terribly wrong. (Independent for more than 30 years)

One of the craziest of them all is:

TERROR FIRMER:

A homicidal maniac is on the loose in the city and the low budget film crew on a Troma movie have the power to stop them.
Some reviewers have said that it contains too much "trash" and related elements, and may be excessive in that regard
Image

PINK FLAMINGOS:
Of course the man John Waters has been doing it wrong for years:

-A family of rednecks and a pair of swingers do battle with one another for the rights to the title "The Filthiest People Alive."

The ones above are nasty but humorous.
As far as rough and brutal, all the Takeshi Miike films listed prior are good but if you haven't seen his contribution to the Masters of Horror series, entitled "Imprint", check it out.

IMPRINT:
Imprint is the installment in Showtime's "Masters of Horror" series famous for not being aired in the US

Can't forget about this one,

CANNIBAL HOLOCAUST:

I mean, the scenes involving humans are brutal but the animal scenes (namely the turtle bit) are too much.

Was looking up on imdb for the scariest horror films (more psychological than gore for me, blood and guts gets boring after a while) and people were raving about August Underground and the sequel Mordum - got no interest in seeing these at all, just sound like fake snuff. Not quite sure what market these people are trying to attract, but I wouldn't want em round my house.
Hmm....

Bad Taste & Braindead: Two classics from the guy who made the Lord of the Rings films, budget gore-tastic :D

And for more serious wrongness -

Ichi the Killer: Haven't seen the film, but the anime's sickness incarnate!

Audition: An extended torture scene you will Never forget!!

Will try and think of more, my brain isn't working properly right now....

Audition is such a dark film. The bloke kept in a bag is sick. Ichi is pretty fucked up as well depends how desensitised to viloence in films you are. But when he is splitting people in half down the middle with a blade on his shoe you know its's fucked.

Ive got a two part anime film called "urotsukidoji". (legend of the overfiend, and legend of the demon womb)

It was genuinely disturbing, not to the point of being funny, or arty or anything, but beyond that. To the point where i felt kind of sick that a human had created the film, it was genuinely pit of the stomach disturbing.

But it wasnt the graphic rape/people being torn apart/whatever the fuck else was going on that was disturbing (those kind of things lose impact to be honest) it was the general feel of the film. The art on the film is genuinely beautiful, amazingly well made, but theres so much going on in terms of disturbing noises and odd patterns and stuff that arent particularly gross or whatever, just haunting and dark. Oh i dunno, i cant explain it, but basically it just gave me a horrible bitter kind of after taste as it were, a kind of sickness and synicism (sp?) of humanity. I'll never watch it again i know that much. Never felt a film have that much of an impact on me, whether or not thats what the film was intended to do i dont know, but to be honest, id rather be naive and happy.

The telegraph - "genuinely disturbing"

I aint going to argue with the telegraph. That film is too fucked.

yes. imagine youre on a ski trip with 15 people, bob marley's greatest hits is playing, you have a fire, its snowing. and some asshole pops this in and puts in on mute with bob playing in the background (thank god for the mute the low buzzing throughout the film is enough to make you puke). that... was our ski trip this year.

Eraserheads pretty fucked up too.

speaking of lynch, someone already said Blue Velvet, but may i reiterate "... baby wants to fuuuuuuuck"

both classics. (lame they changed the name of Braindead to Dead Alive in the states tho)

I gotta mention Peter Jackson's other early masterpiece:

"It's like the Muppet Show on acid..."

Tetsuo - Iron Man

It's a dirty lynchian Japanese thing. About a man who is taken over by metal

"In one of the film's most controversial sequences, the man discovers his penis has mutated into a gargantuan power drill, and his girlfriend willingly copulates to death upon it."

I watched it ages ago as a 14 year old and it didn't make much sense, but I enjoyed the giant rampaging metal cock. And your more than welcome to quote me on that.

Jesus Christ : Vampire Hunter

The first testament says "an eye for an eye." - The second testament says "love thy neighbour." - The third testament ... Kicks Ass!!!

Vampires steal a village's lesbians, and it's up to Jesus to get them back.

May I present a few of my favorites:

Even Dwarfs Started Small (IMDB)
Image
Munch on this clip. It will lodge in your mind and will never leave.

El Topo (IMDB)
Image
Midgets, cowboys, slaying of bunnies. And naked boy killing people. Wicked film.
Trailer for the re-release.

Gozu (IMDB)
Image
Yakuza, ghosts, human breastmillk pouring from the ceiling, woman giving birth to a full-grown man. Just mind-blowing. And good too. My fav Takashi Miike film I think.
Various clips from Gozu

PS. Tetsuo is indeed an awesome movie. The manga it's based on is pretty freaky too. Definitely worthwhile.
