The Producer Gold Mine thread

Post by jaydot » Tue Nov 23, 2010 6:34 am

Alright basically the idea of this is to unearth some "hidden gems", to help us get to know producers that aren't maybe as big as they should be, or just put them out there on our radars.

These two guys have pretty good styles:

Something relatively fresh and different

Shoot! :w:

It don't matter how many people are aware of your music, its getting it to the right hands.

Mt eden have shit loads of hits on youtube, but they don't have any proper releases.

Mount Kimbie posted some tracks on here, and the only person to contact them was Scuba. Now they have a album on hotflush ect...

Why people think soundcloud comments / youtube hits are worth anything, I don't know.If a Lables sign someone, because of how many comments they got on soundcloud they are a joke.

I would rather sign a kid with some dope shit that no one knows, than some kid with shit tunes that everyone ass licks.

I don't know if i missed read your post, and none of this is aimed at you. Im just pissed off with this how many hits you got culture, and am venting here.

Call me jaded, bitter, and crazy if you like.

nope pretty spot on
most of my releases weren't tunes i spammed about or even at all
just got them into the right hands behind the scenes
youtube hits and soundcloud comments may make you feel like king shit and get you some exposure, but in the bigger scheme of things it's a waste of time if you ask me
