If they're fucked beyond all repair, have at them with a sledgehammer or something, smash the SHIT out of them, then sit amongst the debris and get a friend to take some moody photos of you. Instant PR shots!

Ah, a friend of mine did it when his old crappy turntables died on him. Smashed the fuck out of one, the other one coated with lighter fluid and burnt. Looked SICK.

I have been messing around with delays recently, and yeah you got to be careful! They get out of control so easily. If anyone is ever using the Interruptor delays, be careful because when you press stop, sometimes, for some reason, those VSTs can still have a tiny amount of sound delayed, which takes about 2 minutes to build up into horrible monitor destroying screeching. I have gone for a walk before and come back to find mayhem :|

Sorry to hear this man.
Idk if your DAW has this function but in reaper you can set a threshold dB value for when the master cuts off, for example at 8db over the sound will just get cut so as you wont damage your hardware. Idk if they have this on other daws though...

yeah tal dub-2 used to get out of hand all the time once i'd try and fuck with the parameters. at any given point i'd have to lower faders just to prevent it from going too haywire.

After working in pro audio for awhile, staring at a wall of monitors for months I finally settled on these. JBL LSR2328P active monitors. You can find a pair for $500 if ya dig around. They have good low end response, but obviously aren't "suby". They do Work just fine as a pair and do have a sub that is designed to work with them for when ya get money later down the road. I love em' they are an outstanding product and very affordable.

Yes, it can, and had a I been deeper into the project man, I would have been in the swing of things, and my levels would be low enough that Id have had alot more time to react, and the sub would have hit a compressor or a limiter's ceiling anyway, I work in bus's. :Q:

Could get a pair of M-Audio BX8A monitors and the subwoofer that comes as an extra with that... They're a pretty decent pair of speakers as far as I'm aware, definitely what I'm shooting for once I've built up enough cash to buy a decent set of speakers :)

man sorry to hear that :(

were you monitoring really loudly or somthing? like 100% pc volume.

i know how those delays build up quick (done it a ton myself with the same fuckin missclick) but luckily I dont monitor at full volume (And im quick with a spacebar) so its never damaged anything (or clipped the built in limiters)

I would run my rig almost as hot as it went, and mix incredibly low.
