is he actually mixing on air or does he program/mix the show at home beforehand and then just talk over?

The mixing is stupidly tight but that could just be cos its CDJ's. Was a fantastic show though, i loved it!

if anybody records these, or knows a site where these shows are ripped - please share. Missed last weeks, listening to 10/20 show. So looks like Benji B mixes live huh? Interesting change, definitely brings something new. Although I can never get tired of the atmospheric beat cue MAH played between tunes when she would speak. Anyone know which tune that was?

Listened to about half of 21st Oct, show and gotta tell you wasn't impressed with the tunes he played in that first hour or so - just boring, uninspiring stuff. Anyone feel the same?

Probably sacrilege but I prefer him. One too many over the top platitudes before.
Horsepower selection was great. They weren't keen on being interviewed, you could tell.

benji got soul, ...but:

the show needs to to start feautring guest like mah.

One of the reasons her show was so enjoyable was the weekly featured mutiple guest mixeses. she always had atleast someone that i was looking fwd too.

big shoes to fill no doubt, but i got have faith. :h:

Agreed. This is one of my biggest gripes that I have now, and will have if the format will stay with Benji just playing his own mixes. We'll have to see where this goes, so far I wasn't impressed (Oct 21, show) gotta catch up with his newer ones too.

after some weeks i must say: that show should be not approachable on Air anymore .... his show on bbc1xtra was better as this one.
Jamie Woon was the one and only highlight which was interesting. His tastes are subterranean and im tense what other people think about it
Pushing every week ramadanman, ramadanman and his lots of alter egos is so annoying.

i have had enough from this show :u: can anyone else assume ?

One proposal: Starkey should do it :n:

I think he needs to play more darker stuff and a bit more 140 imo. I enjoy some bits of his show but to be honest i find if i listen to the full two hours theres parts where i find it boring. Hes still finding his feet on Radio one though so should give him a chance still.

I love Ramadanman, but got to say he does play his tunes to excess. Not really about playing b2b tunes from one producer too especially when theres so much good stuff out there.

I actually reckon his shows have been excellent. The only tracklist which I haven't been really impressed by was the horsepower one.

You do know that Benji B now occupies MAH's time slot, not her show, right? You seem annoyed because he doesn't play the same type of tunes in the same way as Mary Anne did. Her show was amazing and will be greatly missed, but you can't really directly compare the two - they both cover different styles as well as supporting some of the same material. I don't remember hearing anything about him changing what he plays when he moved to the new show (feel free to correct me if i'm wrong).

I was a big fan Benji's 1Xtra show, one of it's strengths imo was the 3 hr duration, which meant there was enough breathing space to cover several different genres, and sometimes fit in a guest mix/interview/label profile too. It's a shame he only has 2 hrs in the new show. It's only been 7 weeks though, give him a chance to settle in!

Surely if you have had enough of the show you could just go listen to something else? There is more choice than ever out there these days.

Out of interest, how many alter egos do you think Ramadanman has exactly?

Really? cause Benji's show still retains "exploring future beats" tagline.

Regardless, I only listened to his show once, and only could last an hour before turning it off. Not impressed, the tunes he played were flat out boring and just seemed to go on and on.
