**NEW TO DUBSTEP**

Post by rubberbandboat » Sun Nov 28, 2010 10:15 pm

Im sort of new to this kind of music and so far i really like datsik
& bassnectar but i feel like im blocked between both of those artists.
im generally looking for songs that dont have slow beginnings (unless they have amazing drops)
and im not that into like fullout dubstep.... Any suggestions?
Im also very interested in anything that has a dance-like essence

Alright man give Skream, Benga, Joker, DMZ, Icicle, Silkie, TRG, Distance, Loefah a shot - in the simplest of descriptions this stuff isn't 'all out' but heavier than the datsik type stuff trust me! Dunno what you mean about slow beginnings, you'll find that just about every electronic dance music song has at least a 1 minute intro (unless its grime) to build up the tune & so djs have time to mix them in! Fuck the unhelpful haters, they complain all day about people being into certain types of dubstep but are unwilling to point them in the right direction. stnuc.

I dont know why people bother answering these. Theres literally 100000000000000000000000000000000000000000 of these threads. Can we not just post links. Nobody actually lists any artists similar to what the dude wants. We should make a sticky thread like in the production forum for making Datsik & Excision wobblezzzzzz. We should start one in this thread called ''similar artists to Datsik/bassnecter/circus records for n00bs''.

Grow up mate.

Anyways, best thing to do if you're just getting into Dubstep is head over to the mixes section, you'll soon find out what you like and don't like. Also worth tuning into stations like Sub.fm and Dubstep.fm as well.
