dilly question.
listen to this clip and help me on something
all praises due
i'm trying to figure out how he created that downward key melody part, that goes in between each bass stab. do you guys think that's a pitched sample? is it some synth pad? it's been driving me mad. any help would be great. cheers.

look at the link :pJalfrezi wrote:i always wondered what he said in this tune. what's it called by the way?
i think its an 808 kick played high up and then enveloped with pitch. set everything to 0 except the attack that;'s how you get the wobble.
and like he said in the previous post its eqed so its just the mid sound.
ALL PRAISE IS DUE
big up bruv. interesting. i thought it was a bass hit reversed with some kind of lfo filter, but you don't get the same beefy weight that's on the clip. i'm going to try my hand at what you've suggested with the sine waves. i'm still a novice though.elemental wrote:My guess:
2 sine waves pitched a semitone or 2 apart, so they create the notorious "beating" effect (read: wobble), put through some kind of distortion, either through a desk or some kind of valve pre-amp. Prob started life as a bass sound, resampled and pitched up.

for those wanting to know what the track is, it's karl from his capone alias. the tune's called "2da1" and was released as a b-side to a peshay 12" called "i need you" on hardleaders around 1999. one of my favorite 12"s, and one of many slept on dillinja b-sides.
