theres so much to learn!

but really there sound is like a magic trick.
once it is revealed then it becomes less climatic... so ... if we have 1000's of random people running around with this sound then the true "magic" feeling would be lost.

yoo datsik how did you make the wobble in apples sound so nasty is it some processing i asume it is the right cutoff position and a little bit of resampling,i tryed layering something in massive and zebra ,,but its not as nasty as yours,,im just curious, its a pretty sick wobble

i do it that way:
i send my synth (or whatever i want to split) to insert 1, route the signal from insert 1 to inserts 2,3,4 and buss them together in insert 5. now you can control hi, mid and low seperately (inserts 2,3,4 after EQ or cut) and still control them all together by working at insert 5.

i hope you know what i mean :4:

Damn thats a good idea, maybe everyone else already knows that but to me its new and very useful

haha yo datsik you should make a video tutorial to stop noobs from asking the same question all the time...oh wait, you did

and to you guys trying to replicate his sound...dont.
you waste your time if you try and reproduce an existing sound (unless you are REALLY good) so just experiment and make your own sick, nasty sounds
...in my opinion

Not to be a noob or anything, but what does excision use to combine all of his synth/bass sounds. Or how?
Sorry if this topic is dead or anything.

Well I was reading another post in this thread, and it stated 4 different programs.. So i'm assuming its put together into 1?

He probably means either frequency splitting (into a low band, mids band, and highs band) or layering. With frequency splitting you typically use the same synth (multiple oscillators, but usually the same synth) and just separate the different frequencies and apply effects to each distinct band. With layering, make a synth where you really like the mids, and then make another where you like the highs, then EQ out clashing frequencies so that each individual synth just has the area in the spectrum where it sounds the best, doing some subtractive EQ'ing out the parts that the other synth is going to take up. Then make a sub bass synth; I usually use just a pure sine for my sub bass but you can use other waves as well, but it's best to low pass it so it doesn't have to much harmonics in it. Hope this helps.
