however, aside from the jokes, thanks for all the advice from everyone. i haven't been producing long, but i really do think just dancing like a crack head helps you to literally "feel" the rhythms and understand where there should be space and where notes should hit. it also gets you laid... or not.

lol, African stereotypes aside... the point is to learn to dance. Wanna know a secret? Heel, toe, heel, toe. You can slide and shimmy around the dancefloor with little more than that. Practice that and as you get better you'll have developed your own style. Once that is second nature and you hear a song you fucking love, you'll find yourself going into a complete trance on the dancefloor...and your body will just take over.

Also, music festivals. Every time the lady and I go to Shambhala our dancing improves.

That is kind of a tough question because there really isn't an answer for it. There really isn't one tried and true formula that is guaranteed to work every time and nor should there be. You aren't going to want to hear this answer but, trial and error. Some people can just start straight off making bangers others it takes years and yet others never really get it. I am no help I know lol

I think the only thing to say besides the above mentioned is this; dubstep more so than any other genre (IMO) is only appealing to the era and "danceable" when it progresses in a logical manner. If there is an unnatural sounding switch up or if noatation is off then it stands out big time. Kinda hard to put into words, It seems these days that a lot of ppl are trying to over componsate for this by filling the tracks up with a lot of beeps and whips to help keep a song moving, But in reality they should have reconsidered the structural integrity of the overall sound and get every thing working together. If I'm not making any sense it's cause I got back from getting teeth workrd on and still all messed up from the pain killers they gave me.
