to me thats what turns me off about UK MC's. They seem to be trying too hard to sound like an 'intelligent rapper" or punchline rapping where the first 3 bars of rhymes are setting up some witty delivery on the 4th. It's fine if that comes naturally but you should never sacrifice flow to try and play up to your vocabulary. That and a lot of UK rappers do the battle rap "chop chop chop chop" 2 second pause "chop chop chop chop" style of rapping.

agreed. UKHH is too depressing sometimes aswell. We get it, london is gritty and we dont all speak like prince charles.

but the ramson badbonez (UK) version of this is better than the cool kids (US) one

You guys are ignoring the fact that people like Clipse, Jay-Z, Nas, *insert popular southern rapper here* etc are all world class artists who could slay any bush league 8-mile actin rejects backpackin their way to their local hip hop clubs.
fuck jay, personally i don't think he's all that. clipse i'm non-plussed about, nas is obviously fire. chester p would rinse them apart from nas where it would be more equal.

as good as the first braintax album was there is no way you could say it was better than something like cannibal ox - cold vein. anyways fuck braintax, after his first album he went shit and on the last one he basically says fuck hiphop i never liked it that much anyway.

If you think anyone on your side of the pond could even be a bag boy for Pusha, Jay, Nas, etc you're fucking insane. I thought this was understood and we were talking about the tertiary shit.

As much as I like and grew up on GMF and all the like, all that early/mid 80's hip hop is just as "stale" as hip hop has been in the last 10 years.

funny thing is it seems like loads of us artists post 2000 seem to be making this 'hip hop is dead' type hip hop, bitching about it being stale, whilst creating new, original hip hop....

should just be a new genre, but i suppose then they wouldn't have anythin to bitch about

you're seriously underestimating chester p.

also don't get how you can even talk about jay-z and nas in the same sentence, jay isn't worthy of being a bagboy for nas to use your terminology.
