Thanks for all the replies, from what i've read kontakt is as good as other samplers. Its just the clunky interface that annoys me but i'm getting used to it. Might give shortcircuit a tryout seeing as its free!

FL sampler: as my workhorse.
Kontakt: for multi sampling, and for other more complex sampling.
Battery: for drums.
Reaktor 5: for pure sample destruction.
Absynth: for resampling.

I also want a casio sk1.
2 keyboards 1 computer

it does everything i want from a sampler

occasionally use emulator x, but its a fucking headache to use. lovely filters though.

got a couple of proper akai jobbies sitting about, an s1100 and an s6000. never use them really tbh, so fiddly. really should get into them though.
