I pretty much just drink a bunch of coffee and try to get excited. I used to love getting high and making music but since I don't burn tree any more I have to try to convince myself that caffeine is just as good...

Honestly I smoke a zoot every day before I produce, and it doesn't give me an edge at all. Just another way to distract yourself.

But when I'm starting a beat I always have a dirty cigg in my mouth. Just the way I do things.
This. I basically hate anything with that "brutal electro" sound; it sounds all like HUGLAGHALGHALGHAL

I think music has been severely detrimental to my health. I've now running on 2 hours sleep a night, every night, and then getting up and going to work/college, all because I've been making tunes till the small hours.

Does anyone find that they get their creative spark veeryy late a night when they should be sleeping?
Yes, I often open my Daw up just before bedtime and end up not sleeping at all...
I also find that I have huge creative spells whenever I've got a uni deadline to meet. Damned annoying...
I hear you man. I'm suppose to be studying but yet I open FL and mess around with everything lol

Start humming a melody to myself whilst out and about.

Go home and make a massive cup of sugary tea. ( Like 3 cups in it)

Try and play the melody on the guitar and then write down notes. ( 2 hours of fustration and screaming obscenities)

Fire up the set up and get to it.

I burn tree, i drink coffee.

I play guitar too, but it's relaxing and I'm good at composition and playing. the obscenities don't start pouring out my mouth until I open the DAW.
I kind of hate the computer, go figure
