Excision & Datsik

Post by Benn Jammiin » Mon Dec 13, 2010 7:31 pm

hey guys, pretty new to this forum, and relatively new to dubstep in general tbh, been listening to it for about 8 months i reckon. And basically i found out about Excision & Datsik, and cannot stop listening to them, specially Excision's shambhala mixes, they are luuush :4: But i was just wondering what your guys opinion abut them both was ? and could anyone reccomend any decent dubstep that was similiar to them both ?
cheers :)

Most of the DSF peoples don't like Datsik and Excision, me neither but Datsik live is awesome.
I can't really recommend similair artists.

Out of all the "robostep" people I would say Excision & Datsik are at the top of the list but also check out Downlink and Cookie Monsta, you might also like D-jahsta, Ashburner, Dayn, Torqux, The Aliens, 12th Planet, Itchy Robot, Modestep, Jakes, Mensah, Banana Bomber etc.

check out beatport, juno, digital tunes for weekly freshness.

Here are some artists worth checking that havn't already been mentioned -

Bare Noize
Trolley Snatcher
Antiserum
Bare
501
Emalkay
Hulk
Broken Note
B.S.E
Killeralien
Mouch
Koan Sound
Rogue Star
Reso

to name a few and for something on the complete opposite end of the scale check out a kid called Distal, he's blowing the fuck up and doing interesting things to boot.

well there are people that like that style, but i would guess the majority in this forum don't care for it, and generally they are very vocal about their dislike for it [me too sometimes]. for example in the production thread, if you ask how to make excision style music you will get murdered because so many ppl ask for it. that being said, outside of the forum excision and datsik style are absolutely the most popular dubstep.

personally, i think it's sad that genre has been taken over by dozens and dozens of copycats going for that sound, and that's become the most popular type of dubstep, when there's so much more creative and original stuff out there that doesn't get nearly as much attention. but anyway i'm not hating, but personally, I just get bored of it rather quickly.
