The worst is still dudes commenting on your track saying nothing other than look at my tunes. Then you look at your dashboard and see that they've done this to everyone on your friends list.

I think someone mentioned this before somewhere as well, but another thing I don't like about soundcloud is that you can't get rid of the waveform view - so many people just skip everything and get to the drop because they can see where it is!

it's not so much the email as i actually do get sent some actual private tracks like to me and a small handful of people for example
it's the blatent spamming from someone i've never conversed with on here, aim, on there etc or followed or left any comments before
it's obvious someone just datamined for accounts and spams em to hell
think it's long overdue that since so many of us use soundcloud and receive these to name and shame so we can start like the spam bot list on here, but for who to mute on sc

Tbh im not that fussed about people sharing tracks, its the impersonal pm'ing that REALLY bugs me

"Hey buddy, i hope you're having a smashing day, can you take 5 minutes of it to listen to my... LATEST BANGER?" Which has clearly been sent to 1000 others

Thats instant mutage in my books

But yea im all up for naming and shaming these turds

I occasionally use the share private track function when I've made a track I'm particularly proud of but I won't send it to more than 10 people because everyone I put on the list is someone I really respect who I genuinely really value the opinion of. Hope people don't mind that kind of thing.

Do you know them/talk to them?
I receive all of this shit in my inbox because people share their tracks to me. I don't listen to any of it.

I agree. Especially in such a personal genre, it makes sense to go for that method and actually TALK to the person you want to share your music with instead of just mass spamming and hoping the numbers will count for something.

Exactly

I got one about 6 months ago saying, "hey, ive just checked out your beats and we have amazingly similar styles, i cant beleive it, you should check mine out and see what you think".

I was instantly doubting it, but gave the benefit of the doubt...

low and behold our styles were the complete fucking oposite of each other and im sure quite a lot of people got that same message aswell.

Total underhand tactics at trying to massage egos and boost your own play counter, its sickening.
