Don't act dim, can you not look further into the subject. Part of the issue is the represented attitude, not of just the incident, not just this situation, but also to parallel situations. Worth noting the ideas and responses were intelligent ones regardless of which body they came from
Also what a load of toilet about equal rights etc etc... There's this thing called consideration that scraps turd ideals
(Or alcohol if you're into punching ladies to celebrate equal rights)

yeah would make for a much better show if the presenter didn't question anything said, presumed because the man's disabled that he's not capable of lying, and just patronised him for ten minutes. then we could all switch over to a nice romantic comedy and relax.

Re: Police drag disabled protester out of wheelchair
Maybe the police were simply enacting the government's new tests for disability benefit?

it's that he keeps asking the same insinuating question over and over trying to cut the guy off like he's at faultBadman Juice wrote:lol @ the people who don't like it when a reporter asks a disabled person some hard questions because it makes them feel uncomfortable to see them treated as equals.

ridiculous comparison. and camron might not be the most articulate rapper, but he's not disabled.

These stories shouldn't be allowed to overshadow the protests. The media is constantly detracting and sidestepping the issue and just focussing on violence or individuals. (They're both pertinent issues, but they should strengthen the overall protest. The media seem to be using them to divert attention from the purpose of the protests)

Yeah. It's a sad state of affairs.

I've made an official complaint to the BBC, and I urge everyone else who is as horrified by this as me to do the same. This is completely unjust, in the way it was conducted and reported.
This conservative gonvernment is a joke, do they expect things such as this to just blow over and go away, in the age where everything can and will be filmed, and then will end up in youtube within 24 hours?
I hope theres another march soon, this is completely disgusting.
Fuck the Police, Fuck the BBC and fuck the Government. What little respect I had left for any is now shattered.

He had some really good points but like people have said it's ridiculous that he got cut off everytime just to be asked the same question.
You can tell the questions asked were to paint him in a bad light and justify what the police did, just because of the fact that he was protesting. Instead they should of been focusing on the matter in hand which is that the police should not have done what they did.

Re: Police drag disabled protester out of wheelchair
in my hometown, Gainesville Florida US, a University student with polio named Al-Brempong was shot multiple times in the FACE with an assult rifle because he was 'approaching the police with a large stick'...which was in fact his medical cane. there was a video taken of the incident. the uni police ignored the on scene mental counselor's direct advice concerning the student & he is shot within 3 seconds of the door being broken down. the police claimed the student was alone in his locked apt yelling outloud so this was necessary action. the officer were placed on paid leave & are still serving on the force. the student is still recovering(this was last spring) and the university has paid his bills. there were small protests for a few weeks but no other protest action taken. the media turned it around so that the victim 'may have been' attacking the police even tho it was very clear otherwise.
as was said in the video. this is not an isolated incident.

equally if he's using a supposedly independent broadcaster as a platform to put forth his political agenda at length, then it's important for the report to move on to questions which will get to heart of the issue at hand.

Re: Police drag disabled protester out of wheelchair
Filed a report to Ofcom yesterday, first time I've ever felt the need to complain.
