Yeah I have tried re-encoding through itunes but it comes up with a box saying the files are protected and it can't be done. The only solution I can think of is to record them into a sound editing program and save them as mp3s but that is long. Was hoping someone knew some other way of doing this without having to do it that way??

Itunes isn't that bad really. 192 can sound pretty decent at times. With dubstep i could see that there might be a noticable difference when taking all the empty space into account. You have to realize itunes isn't for audiophiles. The casual music listener(which is most of the populace) can't tell the difference between 192 and 320.

Agreed. I play out a lot to the more casual music listener and have played all types of mp3s and digital files over club soundsytems. You can get away with more than you think when it comes to file quality without people noticing in that type of enviroment.
