More oldskool sounding bits with full dynamics.
Don’t worry about people stealing an idea. If it’s original, you will have to ram it down their throats.

In fact, I thought that was one of the better threads lately.
I think Dubstep is at a turning point, those kinds of threads and sentiments are going to be more and more common. A dialogue about the crucial people in the scene, their musical philosophies, and an opportunity to teach a newer generation about it/them are a really good thing.

I'm a bit of a MediaWiki whore, so I'd be happy to help out with a Dubway/DSF-sanctioned wiki for the bible if people want to go that route. Be that setting it up, hosting it if you guys absolutely don't want to, creating templates/people bugging me with questions, whatever.
I just think its a really good idea. But then as I said, I'm a bit of a Wiki whore.

i'd like legendary to not attempt to get me banned for: "sarcastic and hateful [remarks] towards the moderating team"
Re: What would you like to see for 2011
It wasn't a attempt, it was a warning, and you're in the little group what seems to think moderators are something big and special and can do prolific things with meaningless powers and thus, act like a knobhead towards me.shaneynclan wrote:i'd like legendary to not attempt to get me banned for: "sarcastic and hateful [remarks] towards the moderating team"
I am tryna help out the community here but if all you lot care about is locking threads and deleting spam bots - this thread might as well be sent to junk.
Pettyness is abysmal.
The kode9 thread was locked because I didn't wanna see half of the forum gang up on kor' (NOT KODE9) as despite hes explosive manner, hes a good member of the community - as well as the 4 malware alerts what was on the thread, which yes, was in someones sig but I locked it(for the time being) till I found it then forgot to unlock it.. My bad.
Again though, I shouldn't have to justify every move I do.

well either lock all the threads that have artist bashing in them or lock none of em. set some sort of regular precedent, not a case by case basis just because someone is a "good member of the community" and might get some blowback from voicing a negative opinion, which i'm sure in this case he was aware of when posting his sentiments.

Re: What would you like to see for 2011
Is it ganging up? Or do a large number of people share an opinion and disagree? Shouldn't they be able to share their opinions regardless of the OP being a good or bad member of the community?legend4ry wrote:

On a guitar forum, would a thread dissing Jimi Hendrix be met with the same results? I think it would.
The unfortunate part about locking that thread is, the poster who didn't understand why people liked Kode 9 (and other younger, less knowledgeable forum readers) missed a possible opportunity to learn about the importance of Kode 9 in the evolution of dubstep (wether they like his music or not).
Forums are largely about community and education - we missed an opportunity to educate our community by having that thread locked.

Less trolling.
Less noob bashing.
Less flaming.
And less people waving their dicks about.
But I do like how Know one cares when threads go off topic, but in a production sort of way.

just had a quick thought about adding a chat room function at the top so people can chat and shit without starting threads or adding countless people on msn/aim or whatever, would be nice to get people more socially involved other than when just posting in topics.

Minimum post count maybe?

You're kidding right?legend4ry wrote: I'm sorry but I am ready to throw out feedback threads all together, if people are so unsure about their tracks they need to post every single one in a feedback thread - they either need to build a network of production friends up or spend more time in the studio.
The feedback threads were a compromise, because people kept posting their tracks in threads so we made stickies but I personally think its just time to clamp down and stop it all together.. So this suggestion, however nice it sounds in theory is denied I am afraid to say.
