Apparently Gladiator (and maybe some other software from Tone2) did some crazy stuff to your registry, searched for pirated software, sent info to Tone2 without your permission, and a bunch of other stuff that's supposedly really bad but I didn't understand because I don't know a lot about computer security.

It was discovered by a cracking group. The head of Tone2 said that they were just trying to discredit him and that there was no proof, although some anecdotal evidence has popped up on KVR of people saying the program was accessing their internet connections or wasn't working until they turned their firewall off because it incorrectly detected something pirated.

I have no idea to what extent any of this is true, but the head of Tone2 is pretty notorious on KVR as being a dickhead, and along with promising features that never show up (even putting it in the GUI!), has pretty much guaranteed that I'll never use any of their software (apart from the original free BiFilter, which I love and will never get rid of =P ).

Maliciously inserted a grip of entries into your hosts file. This affects the way your computer interacts with the web. This large bulk of entries very well can slow down the way your comp accesses the internet. And a grip of other stuff too. Very very bad boy, he is getting nothing this year from santa.

I use it here and there. It puts out a phat bass sound so I use it for more of the deeper stuff. But now I've moved on to Sylenth <3 and Massive and haven't looked back.

actually i do like it for writing deeper sub lines. the lowend it produces is great but other than that i find it very thin sounding. sylenth all day.

Gladiator and Circle were both synths i didn't use much, always stuck to the more mainstream Sylenth, Predator, blue, etc etc,... Wow, My mistake... These are SICK! Though, I wasn't ready for gladiator when I first checked it out. Now that I understand what's going on, WHEW! Sick... Circle, on the other hand, is super intuitive and straightforward... Will be picking both of these up shortly. Good looking out!

re: tone2 and internet stuff

i dont really know if its true but i would recommend not having your production computer on the internet!

its a great way to make it run really badly.
