New kid on the block..

Post by Phreak Lemmon » Wed Dec 15, 2010 4:52 am

New to this forum, not new to the style.. Been a dubhead all my life. 32 years of age, been busy with music all my life, DJ'ed 12+ years, mostly underground parties.

Started producing tracks about 6 months ago, got a few up on Soundcloud and wanted some opinions :D

All free downloadable 320's, enjoy !

There's a button for it when you make a post, just push the button then put the url in between.

Also, dig your tracks. Real chill vibe but still grimy sounds. Good stuff.

I think its Soundcloud misbehaving again (as usual). As far as the tracks go mate theyre sounding good, especially as you've only been doing production for 6 months. If you're looking for tips, id crank up your snares/claps and maybe put a boost in around 200Hz to give them a bit more crack. With those bass sounds you want the snare to singe your neighbours eyebrows! Also I'd break up the basslines a bit (possibly with more wobbles) just to enhance that flow you've got going on with the drums. All down to personal choice ofc but thats my 2 cents :D

Nahh.. it was just my own stoopidity.. But i got the picture, so we're set !

Thnx for the info ! Learning every day, I will try this in the next one for sure ! These are the pieces of info I'm missin' (plus alot more ofcourse, but gimme some time ;) )

Next to this, I don't have a professional speaker system, so mastering it to a grand final will be really hard to do. I also read that you should actually let the final mastering be done by somebody else, but i'm not nearly that far yet, so I just try to get it to the best I can.
