Selective hearing, selective participation (almost in every aspect), selective caring. I have massive selective syndrome, if there's ever one.

I function well socially and being a humanitarian (by nature/nurture), I adapt, but I tend to weed out a lot of things I personally think is crap. Even if it means a lot to other people. Most of the time I keep my thoughts to myself, but sometimes I think out loud :(. I make exceptions in work-related manners cos I take it seriously.

(I had to convince myself to participate here, so I can confess my bad habit. There should be a confession thread. Or not. In reality, I don't really give a crap about this. Sorry, OP, I'm sure the feeling's mutual  )

Selective hearing totally. Also I'm extremely blunt, especially when drunk...

Maybe 'thinking out loud' is the correct term

I move my hands about too much when I'm trying to describe something in detail or explain something. Especially when I'm drunk.

I also tend to nod and say yeah over and over when someone's explaining something important to me.

When you say things like this, I try to picture what it would be like if Noam Chomsky said them.

I do that with every single post he makes.

It's hilarious sometimes.

i start sentences without knowing how im going to end them and run out of steam halfway through, i take huge pauses in the middle of sentences, and i say 'i dunno' every few words. these come out particularly strongly the more serious or personal the subject being discussed is

After a long time of getting paranoid at laughter whenever I have my headphones on, my mates have told me I make really loud grunting sounds whenever I'm listening to music.

Now I realise why tube rides are so awkward; I now realise I'm doing it, but there's nothing I can do to stop it. Shiiiiiiit.

Leaning into people when they talk to me - I started not looking at people
when they talk to me, but adjusting my head to listen to what they're saying
as opposed to looking at them and trying to decipher their body language
and listening to tonality in their voice and completely missing the point.

Nailbiting
Hacking up phlegm loud as fuck
Pissing in the shower from time to time
Sighing for no apparent reason in other peoples company which must come across rude as fuck

And one that annoys me the most is spastics who don't look where they are going when they walk so they walk into you or you have to swerve to avoid them. Or worse, those that do see you and still walk into you. (This stems from a particularly harrowing trip into town on Monday suffering a right edgy comedown)
